2004 Desert Platinum G35x Build Thread
Hi all, Been lurking for quite some time. Thought it would be a good time to keep a simple build log.
Car was purchased November of 2014 with 107,000 miles.
Currently as of July 2016, it has 122,000 miles.
The goal of this build is to have a simple but unique build for an AWD sedan.
Current Modifications:
- Stillen Z-Tube
- Apexi Drop in Filter
- Z1 Plenum Spacer
- R1 Concept Slotted Rotors
- ES Complete Front Bushings
- BC Racing Coilovers (12 Hardness All Around)
- Universal Vented Oil Catch Can
- TBW Aluminum Under Tray
- MB Interline Wheels 18" (Offset +38 All Around) 18x8 Squared Setup
- JDM Double Din Kit
- Stillen Gen 2 Catback Exhaust
- Nifty Shifty Custom Shift Boot for AT
- Full Outcast Garage Nismo Front, Sides and Rear.
- SxExCx Black Grounding Kit

November 2014 - First day I got the car .
June 2015 - First day I got the MB Interline Wheels Installed.
June 2015 - First day I got the BC Racing Coilovers installed.
August 2015 - First day I got the TopSpeed Y-Back Exhaust Installed. Overall good exhaust for the price but the drone got annoying for daily driving. Ultimately I ended up back to stock exhaust with a coupe midpipe.

November 2015 - Finally installed my DIY Vented Catch Can. I had to create a custom bracket in order to support the catch can in the engine bay.
Overall look of the engine with a little surprise I found when I finally opened up the engine cover .
February 2016 - R1 Concept Slotted rotors and pads installed. Overall good brake setup for the price paid.
July 2016 - Overall look of the car as of now .
September 2016 - Looking MUCH better now .

Ride quality isn't that bad at all lol. On full stiffness it is really tight around the corners and is a rough ride but that is to be expected lol. But right in the middle it isn't bad at all and isn't too boaty. Overall good ride quality and keeps the overall car tighter around the corners.

All you need is the rear if you are not going too low. You just gotta be careful driving around town really. Other than that, the camber isn't too bad.

Finally have some updated photos on the car. I chose a different path from the 2014 370z Sport Wheels and went to the 2013-2014 G37/Q60 Wheels. It is a staggered setup but as of right now I have no issues with the AWD system and I am planning on changing the front tires soon anyways. But, overall it is looking MUCH better with these wheels. Much more to come though but happy with the slow, but steady progress on the sedan.
