Looks like the bike's been dropped already, but I'd still get some frame sliders to prevent any damage if you happen to drop ur bike.

You're gonna love it. My first bike was the exact same one, except I was the 2nd owner and paid 6500. It had only 3800 miles on it and was immaculate. I had the forks revalved by computrak, had penske double adjustable shock and ohlins steering dampner. Had the bike balanced and adjusted to my weight. It was a completely different animal. Night and day difference. I love knee dragging on the 6.

nice bike. are the 04's fuel injected? i forgot when yamaha put fuel injection on the r6's.

You could put a highmount exhaust and swap out the front end for a newer r6 front end so you'll have the badass radial brakes and inverted forks.

In all honesty, i would just ride it like it is and get a few seasons out of it while you save for a nice new second bike.

I wish you started off with something slower and lower, but have fun.

BIKES! FTW~! I had plans to buy a used R6 also, but the seat height was too high for me. I went and got a 08 600RR. Have fun riding! Like others said, keep the shiney side up! Have you tooken the MSF Course? I recommend it..

I highly recommend the MSF Course as well. Worth every dollar and has saved me from some terrible accidents.
