Ford Taurus Sho Ecoboost

I know the general population here has a hate for domestics, but it seems that a lot of stock vehicles of many makes are about to be punked on the road by another sedan lol...

Say what you will about it, but it's nothing to be slept on.

The new EcoBoost Taurus is only available as an SHO, a Super High Output version. The SHO name hasn't been used since 1999, but it's appropriate here. The new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 EcoBoost engine sends 365-bhp and 350 ft-lb. of torque to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic. Clearly, this car isn't only about fuel economy, as its EcoBoost name suggests. In general, the SHO is tuned for a sporting driving experience with revised suspension, electric-assist power steering, steering-wheel paddles and a transmission that rev-matches on downshifts. EcoBoost economy and SHO performance might seem at odds, but the goal was to provide V-8 performance with V-6 fuel economy. The mpg isn't known yet, but Ford expects an EPA highway mileage rating of 25 mpg. This would match a BMW 335xi and beat a 550i! For an even sportier SHO, there is a performance package that revises the suspension components, adds custom sticky 20-in. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, shortens the final drive from 2.77:1 to 3.16:1, swaps the brake linings for something more durable and gives the driver an off setting for the stability control system. At a starting price of $37,995 the new Taurus SHO will give the Pontiac G8 GXP and Dodge Charger a good fight and maybe even slap a BMW around a bit.

FWIW, there has never been a 6 speed SHO. 89-92 V6 models came only in 5 speed. 93-95 V6 models came in either auto 3.2l or manual 3.0l. 96-99 V8's only came auto.

I can't wait for this car to hit the streets. I may pick one up in a couple years.

Typical American sedan.
Bland styling, too much chrome and plastic.
