completely differ cars that service differ needs. I had a G coupe and sold it for the IS350. made the switch cause the IS new with 0 miles was $100 less a month, roomier, faster, more hp, and a fresh body style. I love(d) both cars differently. the G has a lot more lower end torque, but the IS has a lot better mid-high range power. people say the G has a bigger pimp factor... guess its where you live cause no one cared that I drove a G, but everyone freaks out over the Lexus. granite with tint, eibachs, tanabe exhaust, and BBS's attracts people every time I get into it. my G was modded similar too, but didn't really phase anyone.

people on the board poo poo the IS but I bet the majority of the haters out there have never even driven one and stereotype it cause of the four doors. read on the other thread about this subject they were calling it an old mans car and something that would appeal to them if they were over 45 years old. they need to go back and see how Lexus is marketing the car cause they couldn't be more wrong. you want grocery getter retirement age car go shop for a GS. you want a sport sedan marketed at the late 20's-mid 30's group go buy an IS. I'm 27 and never thought the IS was an old farts car.

don't knock it till you tried it.

both the is250 and is350 look great inside and out. if fact, i can't believe how good it looks considering it's a four door... I also think the new 2007 G sedan is also very, very nice) so the G is well represented.

I still prefer the styling of my G coupe...

there there was no 335i or M3 to consider, i would get IS350 with Fabulous front/rear lip kit, and be done with it.

The whole point of these vehicles is to combine a sporty driving experience with the practicality of a sedan. The G35 is roomier, has pretty decent steering feel, and does not have all the electronic aides that get in the way of driving. The Lexus has a superior Toyota fit and finish over the G35, but is much smaller inside and lacks the same steering feel as the G35. What's worse is the IS 350's VDIM system that interferes way too early and way too much to the point where the driving experience is ruined (I also believe it is unsafe).

From a pricepoint perspective, the G35 wins hands down. Indeed, for the price of an IS350, I would seriously consider paying a little more and getting a BMW 330.

If I had to get an IS, I would pick a RWD 250 with manual transmission and keep it basic.

Totally agree.......... the IS350 me and my friends tried was so small inside, me and my friends nearly suffocated in there. I didn't get to drive it myself but my friend said they floored the accelerator and didnt really feel that 307hp at all. Handling wise I wouldnt comment on it cause I don't think they tried hard enuf......

Overall, I still like my sedan better for its performance but the IS really is attractive inside out.....
Some people care less about performance, some only likes performance...
Take your pick....

basically the IS350 is a mid 13 sec. car its nice as **** on the inside has all sorts of good features...gets great gains from simple mods like exhausts / intake due to the new direct injection V6 engine, will always be more reliable then any infiniti and although the styling has to grow on you i think you would be crzy to take the G over the new IS and yes it does handle good ...

i guess i am biased but if you like amazing customer support / reliability go with the IS350 if you like great performance go owith the IS350 if you like luxury go with the IS350

the G is one sexy car tho but a 4 dr sedan that can hang right behind an e46 m3 and beat the **** out of those new mustang gt's I like what Lexus brings to the table finally with the IS

When they put a manual in the IS350 I would consider it over the G, but it's not a big enough power difference to justify the swap IMO - if they had the v-8 gs430 engine in it with a manual - that would be the ticket -

I dunno about which is better overall. But I decided on the G because I had no complaints about the overall style and it was way cheaper for me, granted I bought mine used. For the price I think the G is a sexy *** car and can't be touched by anything else. The IS350 looks nuts and almost made me drool when I saw it from the front and the sides. Its crazy aggressive and awesome. But on the flip side the back wanted to make me throw up. I think the tailights are ugly and that small bit of amber just doesn't look right. And then the small markers on the back of the bumper just seem like overkill. However those are my only complaints other than price. If they fixed the rear and found a way to make it cheaper no doubt I'd be all over it. I'm no hater.
