Can our cars (G Coupe 5AT) beat a 2002 Lexus GS430? I checked car-stats.com and it said that they run like a 13.8 - 13.9 or something. Some kid around my area has one and wont stop talking crap about how fast his car is and how he can take Z's without trying. Im hoping our cars are faster so i can shut him up!

Oh yea...i have a Z-Tube and Stillen Intake.

i think a 6MT would be able to keep up with it !!! But a 5AT would loose to it pretty bad... remember our G coupes are pretty fat b1tches... the gs430 has a V8 in it with like 300 hp and im sure it doesn't weight that much more or maybe even less

Stock vs Stock the GS430 will win, as far as pulling on a GS430 with a stock G35, thats not going to happen unless it was a GS300 or unless the G35 got the jump...I have done this race at least4 times, with different drivers when my friend got his g35, the only mod on the g35 is intake, he cannot pull on me at all... I have even given him the break just to see how strong the GS is and each time iam able to put a car length on him in the quarter mile....From a roll the GS is going to win again because the V8 is at home at highway speeds and is going to walk away, not by a huge margin but enough to know not to try it again.......again I have tried this twice against the same G35...and once on the interstate against a random person wanting to play... Now a stock GS430 vs a 6mt G35, would be a different story.. its all about who is the best driver at that point..this is speaking from experience!!! Yes the GS is heavy car but keep in mind the V8's torque rating and hp!!! like trey just said go to the track and find out!!! BUt by no means is the G35 a slouch, and if slept on it will hand u your a$$, they are respected by me, especially to be that strong throughout the powerband and only be a V6......Race him!!!!!

He had a hard time keeping up with me. He was pretty fast though

2006 GS430 v 2005 G35 6MT, lost in upper range (140+, no mods but extremely close)

2006 GS430 v 2005 G35 6MT, with minimal mods, maybe 1500+ invested in the right spots will be even or gaining an edge in the upper end when the car needs the extra breathing room)

jpker, did u guys race from dig or from a roll? What type of mods do u have if any, because him keeping up with u shouldnt be a problem if both of u are stock, especially if highway driving, unless you got the jump on him..

It's ok to say it, other cars are faster! GS430 is limited by the computer but the engine is more capable than G35 all day long even on Sunday. Soon as the modsters crack the cpu it's over with, a simple cpu mod and the 430 will kick all our as$es

we were both at the light (he was behind me) when we got to the bridge i slamed it and he followed, i pulled away bout a car and a half on him, but then he cought up with me (he was going about 80 and climbing and i brought it down to 60) and i slamed it again but was unable to get him coz my exit came up.
