G vs. Z insurance costs.

I got an insurance quote for about $380/six months, full coverage when I was looking at buying my G35 AT Coupe. Since then, State Farm has lowered my premium to only $320. I think that is great. That is the same amount I was paying for my Pathfinder, and what I am paying for my F-250 as well.
What are the premiums on a Z-350? I get the feeling we have got an insurance "loop hole" in the G35....

Yes there are a few advantages to being an old f@rt and living in the boonies. I'm 51, and I live in rural southwest New Mexico, near Silver City. Great mountain roads and scenery, very little traffic.

i work for an insuurance company and there are alot of factors that go into the price for your insurance. some major factors incude past driving history, age, location, how much miles you drive a year, saftey features ect

Z insurance will definately cost you more cause of the way it gets rated, im in nj and the 2006 350z was rated at 26 points where as the 2006 g35 was rated at 22 points. My quote for the Z was $6800/yr and the quote for the G was $4800/yr which is why i picked up the G instead. Also the Z is rated as a 2 seater sports car to insurance companies where as the G is a 4 seater luxury car.

Nowdays, dont they rate you more on your credit? If you have bad credit your gonna drive like an A-hole and most likely not pay your premium, so therefor your rates is sky high . Biggest bull$hit Ive heard !

Yes, they rate you on that too. Partially however. I read it in the business portion of msnbc.com. Some research indicates that your credit history is a reflection of you as an individual.

It's nice being 26 yrs old. $663/yr for 100/300 coverage w/ 1000/500 deductible. Amica insurance, not some crap brand. I was paying twice as much with state farm just a couple months ago.

Any discussions with numbers is totally irrelevant. As one other poster said, there are a lot of variables. So we should stop doing the "guy thing" and comparing our numbers since they don't mean anything.

FWIW, My insurance is 90$/month with State Farm--but it's only $9 more than I'd been paying on a friggin' 96 Maxima! It's all because of where I live. BTW, I too am an "old fart" over 50, and haven't had a ticket in 27 years. I suppose if I moved to the New Mexico desert, it would be cheaper...but then I'd be out of a job...

Haha, actually im 22 but thats the cost I have to pay to live in New Jersey which is the worst state for car insurance rates. My record is clean with no points and on top of that insurance is in my name... dont have the option to put it in parents name to make it cheaper.

I would think insurance premiums for the G is more than the Z because you think about it, depending on the model of the Z, our car can be as much as 10k in price difference. Wouldn't the insurance company charge you more to insure a more expensive vehicle?
