04' MT Stock G35 Coupe .vs. 03' AT Stock Mustang Mach1
Has anyone raced a stock automatic Mustang Mach 1 before.
Would it be a close race or would the Mach1 beat me out right......take into consideration that its an automatic. I know that the Mach 1 has 305 Horsepower w/ 320 lbs of torque......which is way more than the G35, but I'm just wondering..... |

I'm gonna say stock for stock w/ both good drivers
Mach 1> G35 Mach 1's also have a 3:55 gear ratio and a the 98 spec Cobra motor (305 hp) DOHC. Plus they have been proven to be underrated by about 15hp putting them around 320hp. Most magazines got 13.2 in the 1/4 At the track I have seen consistent times between 13.4-13.6 at 105-107 respectively with amatuer drivers. Most seasoned vets are consistent low 13's. So isn't the G a high 13/low 14 sec car? Mach 1 will win if the driver isn't retarded, but anything can happen on the street. Just get it on video.

Had one try and show off one morning on my way to work, I was to tired and groggy to bull**** that early, but it looked like it was very slow, but hey maybe the driver sucked.

Actually the Mach 1's don't have a 98 Cobra motor, they have 03 Cobra heads and will smoke a G35 stock for stock. It doesn't matter auto or not, they are faster...

I knew about the better flowing heads, but didn't know they were from an 03 cobra. The block is aluminum (non-teksid), I think they stopped using Teksid after 98 or 99(which sucks b/c that block could handle a lot of power). The compression was bumped up as well and the cams were slightly more aggressive and calibrated to the other components. Looks like the block is from the 01 Cobra (aluminum) and the heads of the 03 Cobra. Not to bad for a hybrid between the 2. With light mods, these guys are running high 12's. Up top the 4v motors really start to pull. Sorry G fans, hope for a bad driver and bragging rights.
