New Camry SE V6 is an amazing car

I think the new Toyota Camry SE V6 is awesome car for what it's capable of. Of course this car is not a direct competition with G35, but its numbers are nothing short of amazing.

268hp V6
6.1sec 0-60mph (per Road & Track)
14.5sec @ 99mph (per Road & Track)
26.3mpg combined (observed by Road & Track after full road test)
All these numbers are with 6 speed automatic. No manual.

And all for about $24K with "run-forever" Toyota reliability. Wow....

If G35 is about $10K bargain compared to 330i with similar performance, I think this car is $10K bargain to G35 with similar performance.

Its a great car, but it doesn't make the car competitor with the G35 and BMW. Its soft, comfortable, not noisy, fast and for old people that can not afford a lexus. The g35 is anything but that.

Yeah, not bad but that's still a fwd camry. They are selling like hotcakes, though. A friend of mine is looking to buy a V6 one but they almost don't exist and no deals.

Definitley a little more style/sex appeal to go with all that refinement.

Amazingly boring, yes. For the same price, I would rather have a Chrysler 300. Say what you will about the plastic interior, but at least the 300 is a hundred times more interesting of a car than the Camry.

If you view an automobile as nothing more than appliance, get a Camry. Otherwise, you're going to be BORED.

I agree and take this right through the Lexus line as well. I owned a Lexus and although the quality was there, the car bored me to tears. Toyota/Lexus balance all aspects of a vehicle and end up taking the driving excitement away.

It's very impressive indeed. I would consider getting one for practical transportation if I can have another fun car.

I would wait another year to get the new camry if I was about to buy one. Reason why is that the first years had some issues and recalls. Mainly due to the 2nd gear slip on the V6s 6-spd autos. It would skip the 2nd gear entirely, but the car would still go.

Toyota fixed the problem after a month it came out. Other than that, the car is truly superb. Test drove one when it first came out, smooth driving and amazing arrays of standard features.
