Which 07 to get?

Im in the mood for a new car so Im wondering what your opinions are on the new 07s coming out. Here are what Im looking at for right now:

07 Toyota Camry SE
07 Nissan Altima
06 Mazdaspeed6 (Possible 07 if the rumor is right that they will do one more year of them)

Id be willing to look at any 06s as well. I wont be able to get a new 07 G35 like i wanted because they will be out of my price range Im interested in hearing what other cars you guys think. Im looking to keep my monthly payments around $400 and Ive got financing for 4.9%.

The '07 G35 is starting in the low 30s still... Assuming you already have a G why would you get a new car that's under the G in class? Out of the bunch the Mazdaspeed6 is the sportiest, Camry the most luxurious and the Altima is the... well... it's the Altima. If anything the '07 Maxima offers many of the lux features that our current gen G35 offers so I'd jump on that but if you're downsizing then I'd consider a loaded Mazda3. I love that car and the price is unbelievable.

Yes I currently have an 03 g35 sedan. The reason I am looking into getting rid of it it because my warranty period is almost up and i still owe about $17000 on the car. I dont understand what you mean about getting a car below the class of the g35. The toyotas have that lexus interior on their new 07s...it looks really nice. Id still be interested in the 07 g35 if they were in my price range but we are probably going to be seeing them on the lots for $33k-$35 for minimal options and that isnt in my budget.

From what I have seen, the 07 Alty looks pretty darn good. I would say that it would definitely be worth checking out when it arrives at dealers.

The Speed6 would give the best bang for the buck in that class of vehicle. They arent sellin well at all in my area. Most dealers have a huge selection. They apparently solved that power drop off issue w/ a reflash and dealer incentives are starting to get good. Warranty is better on the Speed 6 than the others listed. I cross shopped very hard beteween the 06 G and a 06 Speed6 Grand Touring.

Good luck with your decsion.

If you are looking into the Camry but also the price range of the Mazdaspeed6 then how about an Acura TSX? By class I mean that the G35 is considered compact luxury whereas the other cars are dubbed mid-size family sedans. The Mazdaspeed6 is a hopped up family sedan. The trickle down effect of luxury and features in cars nowadays has made even the affordable/family group of cars quite attractive but I think there are better options to be had than your original list. There is going to be a massive difference between RWD /AWD and FWD so I hope you're ready for that kind of change.

If you can't go for the new Sedan, then go for the Camry or Altima.

well i went to a nissan dealership today just to browse around and look at maximas and altimas. i have never been so ticked off in my life. not only did i have one of the dumbest sales agents working with me but she would dissapear for 10-15 minutes at a time. finally the sales manager came out and asked me what i was looking for and i told him. he asked me a bunch of questions like my price range, monthly payments, was i trading in...etc. well he told me they would be getting the new altimas in the end of this year or beginning of next. He then told me that he would not have anything within my price range. i then began to ask him why not...I mean $400 a month is a big payment plus i told him i would probably be putting at least $5000 down. He told me that he didnt think we could work anything out because i have negative equity in my car....WTF!!!!! NEGATIVE EQUITY?!?!?!?!?! I have a fully loaded 2003 G35 minus navigation with only $32000 miles. Payoff on the car is $17000. Now I told him that I probably wouldnt even be trading it in because I could get more by selling it privately. I think told him what I originally payed for the car and what my payments were and he said....and I quote: "Well you must have put a lot of money down because I also own a 2006 G35 and I pay over $600 a month and I get employee pricing." He then informed me that he only put a couple thousand down and financed it for 5 years thats why his payments were high. I could have reached across the table and slapped this mf'er. I then informed him that since he didnt seem to care to help me out there were plenty of other dealers out there who would. My brother who was with me tried to calm me down but I was to the point where I didnt care anymore. Victory Nissan has completely lost my business forever.

Ok thanks for reading...I just had to vent.

This isn't uncommon in G35 sedans. They don't hold their resale values as well as G35 coupes at all. My payoff amount is about $30K on my '05 G35x loaded WITH navi and 20K miles... what's it worth? $27K optimistically. You will always do better selling it as a private party but it takes more time and effort. With the next car that you get, keep an eye on resale and it'll save you from this trouble next time around.

Definitely the mazdaspeed6. It offers some of the best bang for the buck in its segment, easy to modify, looks good, nice interior, fun to drive, and practical.
