**New Roadster 0-60 @ 4 seconds electric**

I think I read in WIRED that it will be around $80,000 in 2007. I would love to have one.
0-60 in about 4 seconds. 13,000+ rpm redline.
equivelant of 135 mpg at a cost of 1 cent per mile.
Tesla Roadster info and more pics.

Hard to believe it's an electric car. I wonder what it would do in a quarter mile.

That is some pretty impressive performance for any car let alone an electric car!! 0-60 in four seconds yet it will only cost 1 cent per mile.....that is a sweet combo! And a 13k redline to boot!

Reading about this car is pretty exciting. Perhaps there will be more in the future. I know they are planning on also releasing a 4 door. Hopefully more car companies will follow suit. No tailpipe, no emissions, and never having to take it up the a## from............

Their website states that you get 250 miles out of each charge.

Not the charge life, the battery life. Batteries will eventually go bad. I am wondering what the life is of the battery and cost to replace.

big $$$

I have read that on many common hybrids they are expected to last about 10 years. I'm sure it's significant dollars to replace them and I wonder if the manufacturers deal with the disposal of the old ones. Don't know about this particular car.

This was also taken from Tesla's website.

"Battery Life---- Useful battery life in excess of 100,000 miles"

This thing uses almost SEVEN THOUSAND Li-In batteries out of a COMPUTER! The failure rate of these batteries is 1 in like 5000, I'm talking ASPLODING failure. So.... U figure the odds....
