Yeah but don't forget that the 335i has FI engine "twinturbo", My G has light mods and it puts down 273whp which is very close to the 335i with 275whp.

Ya, but how does your torque curve look? I'm not ragging, just saying that the small turbos weren't so much for the hp gain as the "300lb/ft of torque from 1300-5500rpm" thing.

That torque curve is awsome.....
after I drove that 6MT, my G felt like a turtle

Ya that's what I'm saying. I really do love my G but the 335i is an absolute rocket compared to it. My g coupe had just about every bolt on available when I lived in NorCal and it "felt" way slower than the 335i. I don't know what that translates to, but the best my G coupe ever ran was 14.1s @ 100.5mph, and the stock 335i is pulling what, 13.5 @ 105?

That's True, my only problem with my G is the torque. 235tq kinda low, but what if you have the same small turbos that's on the 335i, don't you think the G will proform better

Here is my dyno Torque curve and the BMW 335i. If you compared them together, not bad at all the G doing well in my opinion just small turbos will do the job. This dyno was taken in Colorado with 5600+ft ELV and the weather was 94F extreme hut for the engine and the car sill doing well. The guy in the shop says that if the weather was better you will easily hit the 285whp but I don't know about the torque. I haven't been in sea level with my car before, but my car still doing well. With Mrev i'm sure i can hit high 290whp.

Ya, I am not ragging on your G at all - that's a really nice dyno, and I am sure it feels killer. I'm just saying with those tiny turbos the 335i's powerband is 1300-5500, so it's always right there. I had my G coupe done up and it was a quick car, but it'd always lose a little steam in the 2500-5000 range, then take a second breath arounf 5100. I didn't mind, but it's a different sort of experience when you're power is all down low.

It sounds like the torque curve is similiar to a V8- even at a lower RPM. There is no substitute for that pull in everday driving.

Wow. I'm impressed. I love it when HP/TQ ratings are more conservative than they actually put out on dynos. The 335 is still a little too pricey IMO.

:with just a touch of sarcasm:

WOW really? and the A3 isn't ?

Up here in the great white north A3 Q3.2 DSG easily reaches $54k
MF rates are horrible & residuals are in the toilet.

I can lease an E92 for more than a hundred less per month.
I'll take the 335i any day.

...hehehe..... I had to do it bro, you left yourself W I D E open

But it didn’t. It put down a whole lot more: 275 hp and 300 lb-ft. A few quick taps on our trusty calculator shows that this engine is likely putting out closer to 350 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque.
Maybe people will stop asking if the new G will "hang" with the BMW 335i now.

I wouldn't rely on that dyno until independent 335i owners put up baseline dynos. Cars sent for review to magazines aren't always the same as production cars.
