Mazdaspeed 3 Anyone?

Looky what arrived on our doorsteps today. As soon as it arrived, I unwrapped it like a mad child getting a gift.

The roadtest proved to be exhillerating, power is immense from a factory car like this. And the subtle growl from the exhaust is marvelous. This is how this car should be setup.
I cannot wait to see what type of goodies can be had on this beast.

2.3 DISI TURBO 263 HP @ 5500 rpm /283 FT LB TORQUE @ 3000 rpm
Mazdaspeed3 a very quick car: 100 km/h passes by in just 6.1 seconds, which is commendable in this segment. The really impressive bit comes from its astounding mid-range acceleration: 50 to 100 km/h (30-60 mph) in third gear, takes an eye-opening 4.2 seconds, and the typical flexibility test, accelerating from 80 to 120 km/h (50-75 mph), takes just 5.4 seconds. Like many high-end supercars, the Mazdaspeed3 sports flat underbody panels to reduce drag from air passing under the car, lowering the overall coefficient of drag to just 0.31, despite the wider fenders, big tires and roof-top spoiler. This means that that this little hatchback doesn't run out of steam until 250 km/h (155 mph)!

Nice, it's a sweet looking little car!

Here is a review of the MazdaSpeed 3 if you are interested.

So who is going to buy an RX8 now that the Mazaspeed 3 is faster and I am guessing cheaper?

people like me who think it is still a better looking car, and i sincerely doubt that it handles turns as well as an rx8... maybe i should just wait until the mazdaspeed 8 comes out and blab some more.

Great little 'bomb' , Jerry.....I'd only read a little about this little gem up to now......It seems it'll be pretty quick as well as practical too.

I really want to see and drive one of these. For $25k for a loaded grand touring, it seems pretty decent. I love the '07G, but this has some practical things that appeal to me like added utility of the hatch and folding seats. And the extra $10k in my pocket...

The cheap price of this car, plus it's speed = more damaged telephone poles...
