335i Sedan - 0-60 4.8 seconds!

Not sure if anyone has seen this yet...Car and Driver did a sneak peek on the new 335i sedan...and they're raving about it. One thing...0-60 in 4.8 seconds! That's a whole lot faster than the 5.2 seconds that some have tested with the 335i Coupe. Crazy....but considering its $39k starting ($45k as tested)...it better perform that well!

Yip, this has been posted before. But that's none the less pretty sweet. Anyone think Infiniti will boost our G35 as a 335i competition? < I know that questions gotta been asked before, too. lol

Interesting..very interesting. Thanks for the uplink, the car is rocking, no doubt. $45k for a BMW 3 that goes 4.8 is pretty compelling. But I ain't going to be out there racing much. My new '07 G will leave most oncomers behind and that sweet rear is going to get some work sliding me out of corners. Anyways, if Infiniti were to turbo the G....

I think the new HR series VQ is designed to take more stress = turbo/SC? Anyway, wow, 4.8 sec for a sedan ... back when I thought the Supra 4.6 sec time was outrageous.

I can't wait for the shootout between the 07's 335i, G35, IS350, & TL type S. It should be good, but I can probably guess the outcome.

Wait for the M3 version...400HP V8!

How much faster could it get though? Less than 4.9 seconds it fast...getting into sports car territory. The current M3 was hitting 4.8 I believe. Porsches are getting 3.9-4+, right?

I love my G...but this is down right tempting!

I need a 4-door so I would just go for the E39 M5 and get the 400hp V8. I sure as hell can't afford the new 500hp M5!

I test drove the 335i Coupe 6 speed auto. That thing was a beast! The best part about the car is its linear power. You would never guess it has two turbos. You can't hear them and there is no lag at all.

They are supposedly going to release a 4 door version of the M3 this time around...that's what I'm looking forward to. I assume one year after the coupe M3 comes out...

The previous gen M5 is still sweet....not sure if I could handle a manual on a daily basis though. Looking forward to the new DSG type clutch though...supposedly thats where its at.

I wouldn't trust C&D numbers. G35 is unrealisticly quick there too(5.6 sec).
I suggest looking at CAR or Top Gear for acceleration times.
Top Gear has M3 0-60 at 5.2 sec(343 hp Espec car vs 333 hp NA Spec car) and 350Z at 5.9. C& D has LESS powerful M3 at 4.8 sec.

I bet C&D testers dumps the clutch and starts timing only AFTER wheels hook up. Endorsement from BMW shaves few tenths off as well..

I disagree because my 03 auto has done honest 14.3s stock which equates to a 5.8 0-60. A 350Z is an easy 5.5 0-60 car.

The auto 335i should actually prove to be the faster cars because you can brake boost off the line and no boost is lost between shifts. If they're getting 13.5s out of the 6MT 335i's, then I think 13.4s are realistic for the autos.

Exclamation ///M3 will have 4 doors

The new M3 is going to have a 4 door version...415 horse V8 and 4 doors. They are also talking about a dual clutch transmission. This will be the ultimate sport sedan!

also they say the 4.8 is for a 335 sedan but the only thing with the new turbo engine is the coupe so far. Likely it will be right at 5.
