Lease rate comparison to BMW 335i coupe
Here is the current special BMW lease offer on the 335i coupe
http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3/335....htm?PanelID=4 2007 BMW 335i Coupe Lease Offer $529*/month for 36 months $529 First month's payment $2,500 Down payment $550 Security deposit $3,579 Cash due at signing This is based on 335i coupe with MSRP of $42,570.00 (includes automatic transmission). To me, this looks like a great numbers on 300hp coupe that do below 5.0sec to 60mph. I think BMW's high residual/resale value makes this possible. If I put same amount down on new G35 with MSRP of about $35k, I bet the monthly lease payment will be near $500. If the monthly payment difference is only about $50, I might get this 335i instead. Wouldn't you? I thought new 335i is a hot seller. Wonder why BMW offers such lease deal on its brand new car? |

Oh boy, not another 335i thread. If the payments on the 335i were the same as the 07 G, I would still get the G. For my tastes, the styling of the G35 appeals so much more.

We currently have no info on Infiniti's MF or residuals for the 07 G35 though, german cars do tend to have the best lease deals though. |

It's 10,000 miles per year. That's a stellar lease if you never leave your house or if you live in the city. Realistically a nearly loaded 335i coupe lease with about 12K-15K/year would be about $650/month for 39 months and would require about $4K down. That's with $2K off MSRP. I've run the numbers with a BMW lease guy already... It's an awesome car but you WILL be paying more.

Estimated Monthly Payment [4] $485.34 Adjusted Cap. Cost $33,550.00 Amount Due at Lease Signing Refundable Security Deposit $500.00 First Monthly Payment $485.34 Acquisition Fee $550.00 Capitalized Cost Reduction $2,000.00 Total Due at lease signing $3,535.34 With about the same out-of-pocket total amount, the monthly payment differs only by $44. Of course, these numbers are for estimation only. For people who lease, only two numbers matter most; monthly payment and total due at the signing. Considering BMW pays for 100% maintenance for 4 years, their offer looks even more attractive. Not to mention 335i has better gas mileage than G. I like new G35 a lot but the new 335i coupe looks stunning in person. It's rather unusual for BMW offer such a awesome deal on brand new car. If you don't drive more than 10k a year, this is one hell of a deal. Last edited by luxman; 10-17-2006 at 05:25 PM. |

$529 payment is based on "basic" 335i with Steptronic auto only. Although it is just "basic" 335i, it comes with adaptive Xenon, power moonroof, Logic 7 stereo (one of the best factory stereo that I've ever heard) and more. It doesn't include leather but their leatherette is not that bad. I had 2002 330i with black leatherette seat and nobody could tell it wasn't real leather. Considering this 335i coupe has almost identical performance to current M3, I'm little tempted to this "Special" offer. |

So, if leasing is not about monthly payments and cash down, what are the factors and how do you calculate it? Is it cash down, money factor and residual? If so, how do you go about getting the best possible deal when leasing? I have always ngotiated with as little out of pocket as I can, get the monthly payment as LOW as possible and get an allotment of miles that I can live with each year and say screw the residual and just plan to turn the vehicle in at the end of the term...Maybe this is stupid, but generally, when leasing, you cna get more car that you might otherwise be able to afford an the monthly payment is most important...

I don't care what people say, the e92 is ugly as sin. I can't wait for the G35 coupe, literally, can't wait.

Just compare the MF and the price you are paying (derived from negotiated price and residual), there is almost no such thing as a lease "special" if you want to argue with me on that, then I will leave the thread. The only time there is a lease special is when a bank is willing to offer limited time only lease end residuals and MF's. This is almost never. Lease specials are generally "come to our dealership now, we will not try to rip you off." |

I like to level the playing field and compare apples to apples, what's the scoop if I pay cash, OR, like many do nowadays, come with a blank check i.e. Capital One or HSBC etc. We're such keen shoppers, and then we let the acquisition fees (fancy word for what?), deposits, etc. take our negotiating power away from us, much as a trade does.
Just use common sense--why would something that costs more (more to capitalize) cost less to rent? Residual value being higher? But what about availability i.e. 6 to 8 wk wait? Ever go to Avis and say, yeah, I'll take the STS because it's cheaper than the Cobalt? Sorry, but did you ever run into a dealership (try CT) that adds a fee of $300 that's preprinted on the invoice? They have to stipulate that $0 of that $300 goes to the state--it's pure robbery. An "acquisition" fee is nothing but the same, why pay that? |

inTgr8r I strongly suggest you use edmunds.com and shop some dealers that are further away from you, get some firm quotes, and then turn around and price match in your neighborhood. I got $1700 off, but that was 1 1/2 wks. ago...I'm seeing higher than that at e90post, so if I were you go for 2k!! But make your inquiries and even mistakes further from home so you can get the best deal at home (free loaner while being serviced)....my .02.

No one buys a base model bmw I gaurantee its probably hard to even find one on the lot...add a few options (like sports pkg) and its pushing high 40s. I didnt know the base model is leatherette thats lame for a 40k car, our mini has leatherette and you can tell its not real leather
