G35x vs. 328xi

Just thought I'd share this experience from yesterday. I went with a friend to to a Bimmer dealership cause he wanted to by a 335i (amazing car btw). So then of course the salesman trys to sucker me in by asking what he can sell me. So I tell him nothing, i'm not in the market. So he asks what i have, and i tell him i own a 2005 G35x. He then preceeded to bash Infiniti telling me what junk they are, they don't hold their value and they are junk compared to a 328xi. After i laughed at him, i told him to prove it. So he grabbed the keys to an 07 BMW 328xi and we took it for a spin. So here's my thoughts:


CONS:
1). Its a pansy car. No b@lls, no driving excitement, engine too quiet. It did not have the acceleration I would have expected from the 230 hp 3.0L engine thats so popular. (tho i'm used to the snap of my G).

2). It was plain. The wheels were ugly, and i just didn't see any overall designs "ooooh's" and "ahhhhh's".

3). $$$$$ - it was a basic model 328xi that had premium package and cold weather package with a sticker of around $38K. I just didn't feel that car was worth that price.

PROS:

1). It took the bumps great

2). Push button start standard

So after the test drive, the salesman asked me what i thought. So i told him i was unimpressed and that i thought my car was FAR superior in style, performance, quality and value. My car fully loaded was less than this basic model Bimmer. He stilled tried to argue that Infiniti was struggling and was going to bankrupt or something to that effect. Maybe he was related to Oki, but I digress. Meanwhile, my friend DID buy the 335i coupe. AMAZING car, and what a difference between that and the 328xi, but now we're talking apples and oranges.

I know there's a few people who stepped from a G to a 330i/330xi, and I would imagine that those would be a little more thrilling to drive. (2007 replaces the 330i/330xi sedan with the 335i/335xi, but now we're talking $45K + sticker price).

So there's my 2 cents on my Bimmer experience. I left the dealership confident that the G35 was a far better value and financially smarter than the Bimmer, then again, I already knew it, i just proved it

The 335 is a great car but for the money the G is a far better value.

imo the 328xi isnt even close to the new g35 sedan.

Its better to compare the 335i sedan to the all new G35 sedan.

G35x hands down over 328xi without even thinking twice about it....
