Lexus LS vs. 350 GT-8
Hey somebody school me. Lexus is saying their new LS460 is the world's first 8 speed auto. But didn't Nissan beat them to it with the Skyline 350 GT-8? I know the Nissan is a CVT, but I've never driven a CVT, so what's the difference?

There's no gears in a CVT. Its just endless power, till you reach your top speed... lol

As stated above the Nissan is a cvt, however it had a mode where it would act like it was shifting into 8 separate gears by holding the gear ratio's constant until you tell it to change. It is not actually an 8 speed automatic gear box like the Lexus is.
