335i if equal or less lease payment?

I don't know how, but BMW is offering incredible lease deal on 335i sedan. My local BMW is offering $399/monht, $2,500 Cap Reduc for 28 month on brand new 335i with $42k MSRP. No catch. The allowed miles is only for 10k/year but I can either live with it or get little more for slightly higher payment.

I haven't got lease number on G35 but I kind of doubt that if I can get better or equal lease number.

My question is.....If the lease payment is equal or less than G35, would you guys get brand new 335i sedan instead? I'll find out for sure this weekend when I visit both dealers. I know new G35 is awesome car but a 335i is one hell of nice car for that money.

Drive them both.

I'm sure you can guess where the responses are going to be ranged here, but I urge you to keep an open mind.

$399 a month for (arguably) one of the best compact sport sedans in the world is a NICE deal. How much is due at signing?

Good Luck.

If I were leasing, and didn't mind run-flats, I would have be driving a BMW. However, I purchased the car, do my own maintance and hear a lot of complaints about run-flats so I didn't even consider the BMW.

Is that with multiple security deposits? $2k over invoice and the full money factor markup added of .0004, but with the 7 multiple security deposit discount of -00049 and your $2500 down (downpayments are bad idea on a lease) gives just about $399 a month (before taxes) on a lease. Maybe you could do even better on this deal....

There was an article in Business Week about how BMW was discounting their BMW's on an average I think of ~$4,000 per car mostly around leases. So that would explain was leasing a BMW is really a good deal at the moment.

I don't think run-flats are enough of a reason not to get a great car like that, besides the ones included on my bro's 335i (18's) were actually suprisingly good. We hit a rock solid 130mph in the rain (I know stupid and dangerous, but he was driving) in Europe and never felt a slip or hydroplaning. They also held up decently on the Nurburgring race track.

All in all it's an awesome car and I will be giving it a serious look when I'm ready for my next car.

G35S MT vs 335i Leases

Hello,
I was looking at a lease for either the G35S 6MT with Prem, or the 335i with Prem, Cold, and Sport. I needed a 15k / 36mth lease. I didn't want to put anything down on a lease but I was willing to do multiple security deposits (since they are refundable and you don't lose them if the car get totaled).

The lowest monthly that I could get on the G35S was $610 per month and the dealers in the NY/NJ area were pricks about it. Like they were doing me some kind of favor. I am even a current '04 G35 driver! The BMW dealers gave me a deal of $525 per month with the MSDs - I was told that Infiniti doesn't offer an MSD program. So I went with the BMW since it was actually cheaper than the G to lease. I liked the space in the G (since I have one now, I've gotten used to its size), but I'm saving $3,060 on just the cost of the lease. With the BMW I get free maintenance also. Maintenance for my '04 was running around $400 per year. So a $4.3k savings with the BMW. I was almost willing to pay more the G, but not that much more.

I've had no problems with the run flats, but I purchased a 5 yr. agreement for $390 that covers the tires/rims for repair/replacement. One RE050A RFT is about $50 shy of the agreement price, so I think it's worth it. Obviously it wouldn't be worth it on a G35 since they'd be replacing a RS-A, that's like 1/3 the price and could be replaced out of pocket.

You're right about the maintenance--I've been changing my Maxima's oil for years, I love putting the OEM filter on myself and checking the car over while I'm at it. With the 335, forget it. I read the write-up on changing the oil, and it's complicated. Because the entire underside of the vehicle is covered with plastic (guess that helps at 150 mph), the drain plug is hidden behind a trap door, and I think it's female (here we go with a trip to Snap on and pay bucks for a special male driver). Also, the filter gets the paper core replaced, it's not a cannister like the Nissan and most other cars. I wouldn't want to deal with those tiny seals that comprise the filtering mechanism. I could imagine forgetting one and having an issue.

I would never lease, but if the price of the lease is the same, money down is the same, terms are the same, of course I'd go for the 335. But then again, my decision would be which to buy, and that changes everything.

What??? $4400 tied up for the duration of the lease? That's worse than having your bank pay your insurance and taxes out of escrow. What a win-lose for the lessor-lessee. And what's this bank fee of $625? Good ol' BMWFS, what profits. We would never be willing to pay a fee when financing a car, mortgage, etc., can't understand why anyone would on leasing a car.

RE: runflats; swap them out. I've ridden in a 335i with non-rft 18's and 19's and both have less road noise and better grip than the RFTs, and for the price you can sell the RFTs it's a winning proposition. I will be selling my four 18" RFTs for $1200, and the 19" rubber I bought for my wheels (which is superior in every aspect) was $1780. So $580 for 40mm more in the rear, less road noise and better grip.

Just a thought.

What would you do if you got a flat, just go with the roadside assistance? I haven't even looked into a jack and lug stuff since I have no plans on driving in the snow or getting snow tires....the brake dust is very weird, my wheels are dark gray now after only 580 mi. Hands are black just adding air, no joke, better have some sort of wipes or rags handy or you'll get the brake dust on your interior.

Am I reading it correctly, you're putting 295 19's in the rear, 255 +40mm?

Personally, I think the RE050A's were engineered for the car and are optimum. When I did the Ultimate Drive in 2k5 with the new 330's, they had the same Bridgestones. They got replaced every 50 mi. so they performed especially with the professional drivers. I think changing stuff around is ok, but on a 335 trial/error in trying to beat the engineers at their profession may or may not work....my .02.
