Shelby GT500 vs. Corvette Z06 vs. Viper SRT10

Good comparo on the three above mentioned cars.....it was really well written IMO. How they placed at the end would be my buying preference as well.

Good comparison. I think I would purchase them in that order as well (If I ever considered those cars)

I always thought Shelby would be compared to a regular C6 and the C6 would still be a better overall car. I dont know why they threw in with Viper and the Z06.

+10000

The GT500, as good as it is, cant possibly compete with Supercars such as the Z06 & Viper.

The base C6 is still able to outperform the GT500, not by much, but it does. Now, the Z06 just obliterates the competition, if any [competition].

It's not Ford's fault; Chevy just created a Beast...

Don't forget, the Shelby is $28k less than the Z06 and $43k less than the Viper.......the Shelby offers an incredible value IMO.

For about the same price, I'd rather get a C6. In my opinion, the C6 offers more. I give the better value to the C6.

Plus, I can't stand the GT500's interior. The C6's Interior isnt great either, but it's a bit more comfortable and "warmer" than the GT500's.

The GT500 is a great car and value afterall, but not as great as the C6. Not to even mention the Z06.

Just my personal preference.

I'm the opposite of you.......I'd take the GT500 over a C6.

Just out of curiosity... Why? Whats your reasoning behind your decision, or atleast conclusion?

I have to admit though, I love that MEAN look the GT500 has.

You know my choice, Shane..... .. even with the top heavy attitude, the lousy f/r weight distribution and the slight shortfall in hp & torque, with 2" wider rear tires like the Viper had, the Shelby would be even better and closer to the performance of the Z06.

Actually I'm quite amazed that it did so well at a portly 3900 lbs!!!!!
Damn, that's only 100 lbs. short of my M.......

Any of them would be a dream to own, but on my budget, I'd have to seriously consider the Shelby which is about half the cost of the Viper, and 2/3 that of the Bow-Tie......

Great article......by the writer- Arthur St. Antoine - it's a treat to read...

Well, quite simply, I grew up in a household of Mustang muscle cars. A Shelby GT500KR has always been one of my favorite cars of all time. Don't get me wrong, the the Vette is an awesome car as well, but unless it's a Z06 I'll take a GT500 anyday! I just love the aggressive look of the Shelby!

Great read Shane. I also enjoyed the 3d of the accleration and track session and took the time to check out a few other vids while I was there.

Hands down for me it would be the Vette Z06. It is incredibly quick and balanced in a civilized way. It even has the best fuel economy.

I agree that the GT500 should be compared against the C6.
