SPOTTED today 2007 335 coupe convertible

I know this is off topic, but since there's so much hype about the new 3 coupe on this forum i figured I'd put it here.

I had to drive from Phoenix to Payson today to pick up my girlfriend's car. So I'm driving along at about 80 (in a 65) and right before the two lane highway turned into a divided highway i see a gold colored 3 series coupe parked right in front of the median in the center of the road. So I'm driving along staring at it and notice one very obvious thing... there's no roof. I start babbling to my woman about how they're coming out with a 335 convertible which is going to be pretty sweet and all (I think) but they weren't going to be over here for quite some time. She of course doesn't care and continues to talk about her trampy friends.

A few minutes later, I see a car coming up on me real fast so I get into the right lane and continue on at 80. The 3 convertible BLOWS by me with some younger looking guy and his HOT woman in the car, top down hair flying all over the place. That's when I notice one, or should i say TWO huge differences between that 3 series, and the rest of the three series I've seen to date. DUAL EXHAUST TIPS. I yell out a few obscenities about how there's no way that's a 335 convertible, drop into 3rd and floor it. Normally I don't drive like a bat outta hell with people in the car but for this I HAD to check it out. By the time I caught him i was doing 120, however that didn't last long because of other traffic on the road.

Sure enough it was the new 335 convertible, but get this. It still had the German tags on it!!!! The thing was beautiful, dual exhaust tips, very smooth lines, and so on. So either BMW brought it over to do some sort of testing on it, or this guy had the thing shipped here from Germany HELLA early.

Anyway, we get to a stop light (yeah strange, out in the desert). And there are the two main lanes for traffic and one of those half lanes that merges in after 100 feet or so. This guy gets in the outside lane and just FLOORS it when the light changes. He was off like a bat outta hell, those things are FAST. As a safety point I don't do anything like that with people in the car, especially my girlfriend, so I just watched him take off, literally into the horizon.

I sure hope that 2008 G can compete with that...

On another note. When I realized how bad those things were going to spank us I ordered a 5/16" motodyne spacer when I got home.

Ya the 335 are fast !! there is a really fem guy who has one in my town, but he doesnt do anything with it lol

Ya its cool bmw makes some awesome cars but i still like our enterior better and the look of our cars

I thought about buying like and M3 used but i decided every one that owns one at my age just looks like he has rich parents lol I like the cool but somewhat low key thing going on,

All 335's have a dual exhaust set-up, seperated as are ours. The 330's however are dual tips, but are on the left side of the car only. The 335's are fast - I have one on order!

They can't do anything with the butt of the car because it's a hardtop convertible--the trunk has to have enough room for the hardtop to fold into it, while providing the owner with a bit of trunk storage. That's why it's looks a bit strange. I don't understand why people buy convertible sport cars. It is more expensive, looks like a55, and heavy as all hell.

heavy yes, but have you seen the nubers these things put down when they're chipped?
makes the current M3 look like nothing.
