Pontiac G8

When these arrive, I may have to do some serious reconsidering about buying a Pontiac... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUNlR2bHcOU

Some background on the Holden Commodore for those who don't really follow GM: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...701120360/1014

I've never seen one in person so I have no idea how comparable to a G they are in fit, finish, & quality... but I'm certainly going to find out when they arrive

G8........not even close!

I've owned a few Pontiacs.......GTOs....Firebirds but they were all RWD. I
wouldn't own a FWD car, don't like the way they feel/drive. Plus Pontiacs
quality has fallen off and until it gets much better I wouldn't even consider
one of their vehicles......example the latest GTO....great drivetrain but
everything else is way below par.....that's why they failed!

I'm really looking forward to the G8. The only other RWD, V8-powered, four door vehicle with a six-speed manual that comes to mind is the BMW 550i, and that's like double the price......

EDIT: Just thought of the CTS-V, which is about as expensive as the BMW.

It looks okay; and they would probably have a pontiac price tag which is very attractive for the kind of power that they offer =)

But still, for class and stuff, I would take a G over it anyday

The Grand Prix is a joke, as with most Pontiac product. The only one that is worth looking at in recent years is the GTO. Basically a 'vette with a backseat. That's only because it was born & raise down under. Holden Commodore (G8) is an awesome car, its been fully-trained in Australian V8 Super Car series for many years.

The funny part is that its one of the best product under the GM umbrella that we've never gotten.
