You are thinking about the LF-A. This IS-F is rumored to be around $50k. IMO, it's pretty hard to compare a $50k Sedan with a $40k Coupe. (prices are guesses since neither has been released)

Why you're comparing:

1 - A coupe to a sedan
2 - A mid $30K car to what will likely be a mid $50K car - my guess in over $60 once you add a couple of options and non-availability..

is beyond me, but okay.

At roughly the same price point I could drive a nicely equipped M35 or a base M45. Either would make the Lexus look like a tinker toy (in relation to size).

One of the biggest detractors for the IS (for me) is the size - it's a lot more confined inside than a G, much less an M. I can't see myself going smaller than a G, regardless of performance.

BMW better be interested in this though, this has M3 written all over it.

I've never heard of a GT-F, but I think you mean the LF-A. It is supposed to have a V10 producing around 500 HP.......and a price tag of over $100k too.
