GTR at Laguna Seca today spanking the 911 Turbo (pics!!!)

A friend of mine told me that the GTR was at Laguna Seca today for testing. There were two of them, a black pre production and a silver "track" version. He said they ran "stock" black one against a 350z first, and by the time the z got out of turn 3, the GTR was already out of turn 5!!! They then pulled out a Porsche 911 Turbo, and the black GTR was just spankin' it! He was blown away because the Porsches run pretty good at LS. He tried to get a look under the hood of the silver one, but they quickly closed the hood when he approached and told him to get out of there!

By the time I got up there, the silver one was turning out extremely quick solo laps. It was obviously a paddle shift as you could hear it rapidly downshifting into turn 1 off the long straight. It appears to handle extremely well and I never heard it get loose. The AWD system must be very good!

I snapped a few pics of it before they ran me off . I will post them tonight!

Our intelligent AWD should be able to tweaked to acoomodate staggered tire sizes

In fact, quite a bit of tuned R34s run staggered setup

If its as fast as a 997T, and costs much less, I'd take the GT-R, however if its in the price range of the 997T, Porsche all day long. Thanks for the pics! Can't wait to hear announcements on pricing etc.

My buddy works for Skip Barber and they were all blown away with this thing on the track! He couldn't believe how quick it was going around the track! It looked fast to me, but they see exotics out there all the time and they have a lot of respect for the Porsche....But he said "It was spanking the Porsche TT!!!"

I'm holding my judgement until I can get behind the wheel of one!

I was on sport mode with the camera. They were running people out of there left and right. I wish I could have seen the GTR run the Porsche! Maybe tomorrow.
