Question on car choice...
Hey,
I know I'm probably going to get some biased opinions asking here, but I'm torn between either getting a 2004-2005 DG G35 Coupe, or a 2004-2005 BMW 330ci coupe...what's your guys opinions? I live in Connecticut, but I have other cars/trucks that I can drive in the snow, so thats not an issue. I am looking to do some tuning, nothing too serious yet, but will be doing some exterior work to make it stand out. Anyways, shoot away! And if you have any other questions, please ask. Thanks, Mark |

Get the G if you are looking to do some tuning. Well worth it.

If you want the car to stand out then by all means get the G35. its still one of the nicest looking cars on the road 4 years after its introduction. The 2004-05 330i's and 330ci's were nice looking but kinda bland imho. Now for the drive factor.. I have a g35 and I LOVE the tourque and the the feel of the car but BMW's drive is just something that it cant touch. Its a lot smoother and a lot more of a solid car. I chose looks over the drive when I chose the g35 and I dont regret it (Especially since my sister bought an 06 330i
) but I think the next car I get will be a beamer or an audi for the sheer fun of driving it.

So the G35 is a more "active" drive...where as the BMW is a more "calm" drive is what you mean?

You hit the nail right on the head. I think the G is in a class all by itself. It has a nice aggressive tone to set it apart from the other vehicles on the market and can't be mistaken for anything else on the road (yet damn 08 Altima Coupe)

Hmm...I'm coming from a 1995 BMW 325is, and a few family members have newer BMWs, I'm just not sure...I really wanted an M3 but I'm only 18 so insurance would bend me over and tear me a new one...damn insurance companies.

I was considering an 04 05 M3 as well. I looked at them for days before I decided to get my G. Don't get me wrong the M3 is a beautiful machine with some serious tuning options but it looks so limited as of to what can be done. I'd take my G any day over a lot of beamers even though the new 330ci turbo is ringing my ear!

I am a big fan of the G. My friend has a 2005 330ci w/ the ZHP package, but it doesn't compare to the looks of a G. He paid $29K for his, but he could of gotten a 2005 G for $27K and then put $2000 in mods to it. Here's the look of his car...

I was briefly considering the same thing. I went with the G because I liked the interior better and it was more distinctive. 60% of the bmw line looks almost identical to me. Also 330 was just a little more expensive which would have been fine but i couldn't find any additional features that made it worth any more to me. Both are nice really, may just come down to personal preference.

I would say go with the G. Enough speed to have fun while save your green on something "extra" on your car. Beside, the G is nissan machinery, would last longer time before any problem with the engine. For bimmer, always seem to have problem with lighting and electronic systems, have few friends who have them!!! So if you want something durable for some years, get the G, if you are looking for a two years or three, get the bimmer with much higher price!! :-) have fun and buckle up in either car!
