March 2007 BMI video - 07 g35 vs is350 vs 335

just watched the latest best motoring video (march 2007), feature review is the 07 v36 skyline (07 g35 sedan). its all in japanese of course.

pretty thorough review, covering the 4was (4 wheel active steer) vs standard. then they had the usual 5 lap race at the circuit, it was a rolling street start by hp/weight pecking order - is350, g35, 335, subaru legacy gt spec b. the is350 dusted the g35 when the race started, way more torque. eventually the g35 over took it on the 2nd lap or so, and the 335 also blew by it and nipped on the heels of the g35. eventually the 335 tied the g35 at the finish line (exact 1st place tie) which proves the 335 actually beat it since it started 3rd in the pack and had no room to pass the g35 at times. the 335 is a beast as everyone knows. you can torrent it, enjoy the 700 meg video.

I saw it too.

And no, the IS350 didnt dust the G35 at take off. The G35 just bogged down for some reason.

Overall, it was a fantastic review. Sadly, I couldnt understand a word they say; But the message is quite clear, especially since most of the numbers are read-able

This is the way I interpreted the race:

First, lets start with the places:

1st Place: G35
2nd Place: 335i (tie with 1st)
3rd Place: IS350

From the review, it was quiet obvious that the 335i had more punch in it's engine than the G35, but not enough to give it a win. Both the 335i and G35 drove excently through the curves, but the G35 driverwas probably a little better , since, even though the G35 and 335i are at par in the handling department, the 335i is still significantly faster; meaning, ofcourse, that the G35 won it through the twisties.

I found the review fair; The 335i and G35 are excellent all around performance vehicle. The IS350 in the other hand, although quick, isnt up to par in the handling department as the 335i and G35. But then again, not many cars handle as good as a bimmer & Infiniti.

The IS350 just couldnt keep up with the 335i & G35 in the track.

Thats why i love newsgroups and wish others would use it upload once and let others use their isp's bandwidth and servers
