05 g35 sedan VS 07 acura tl?

I just wondering about how our cars would hang against the TL? does anyone have any videos or anything about this?? I feel like they can hang but they wont be able to pass. I'm not trying to sound too confident or cocky, just wannaaaa knowwww

ur right. well take em, they might be able to hang but not by much. the new type-s's might take us by a bit and they have much more power than the regular tl's. remember bro, its mostly about torque on the street, and the VQ seems to be strong on that point. ive taken my fair share of tl's

and from some power to weight ratio calc. ima make the assumption our g's will take standard tl's all day. while the type s and our g's will be an excellent race

At the drag strip, a G35 6MT (rev-up) should be able to take both the TL and TL-S, with the TL-S being more competitive.

And I have no idea what makes you think "its mostly about torque on the street". Power makes the car move... torque is directly related to power. (I won't go into the Torque vs Power)

I have yet to race a TL at the drag strip, because I have not seen one on the strip to date.

skaterbasist....the strip and the street are 2 totally diff things. and i think he was refering to the street. ive alwasy believed torque is a major issue, along with torque curve and power curve. pure hp numbers mean almost nothign in my opinion. thats all i was trying to say. what about a 5at g35 vs. those cars? i have a 5at and ive taken tl's. never raced a tl-s though

Are you suggesting the rev up 6mt will be faster than non rev up? Perhaps it is but I can't recall anyone posting evidence to that effect. Any difference between the two would have to be very negligible.

i used to own a 04 tl six spd i now own a 07 G35s sixspd and there is no way a new tl type S will out run me!! hah hah torque steer at 270hp was unreal i cant imagine 285hp!

its given that the 07 will rape the tl but the OP was referring to in 05 G which is considerably slower than the 07's
