You guys really rock(from a 335 owner)
I just want to say you guys are a bunch of good people.
I dont know if you remember me (why would you) but I was on here for a while trying to decide what car to get. I thought I had it narrowed down to the g35 but ended up getting the 335. 98% of the people on e90post.com are annoying, immature, fanboys who piss the **** out of me and embarrass the marque. I really hate the fact that I have to be associated with them sometimes. God forbid you post something you dont like about your car, you get flamed to all hell. Here, people are helpful and try to diagnose what that OP is going through. Please remember to keep doing that. While I do love the 335, there are a few things I dont like about it and Id like to share them with you(because I know you wont bash me). The car feels vastly too heavy for its suspension(even with the sport package). The g35 felt much tighter and in tune with its weight. Id feel more comfortable slinging the g35 into a corner hard as opposed to the 335. True, a lot may have to do with the RFT's. But because that was my only option, Im stuck with it. The 335 is a lot smoother than the g35. No noise whatsoever anywhere(except the rft's). No vibration through the shifter, seats or steering wheel. Cant even tell its running at idle. Although the exhaust sounds nice stock on the 335, I love that tone the g35 has, its so different. When accelerating, you cant even tell how fast its going. Theres absolutely no point where you feel pressed against your seat. You just look down and see youre going 80 when you think its 55. As much as I didnt like the clutch on the g35, the manual in the 335 leaves a lot to be desired. I even did the CDV(clutch delay valve) modification but the car just doesnt like to be shifted quickly. The paint on the BMW SUCKS!!! In three weeks the front of my car looks like I followed a rally WRX on a gravel path. The front should look like this MAYBE when I turn it in on lease in 3 yrs, not now. Anyway, thats just my rant for now. Carry on.

Nice review... The 335 was on my short list.. I liked the looks of the G better... and went for it. They both have their strong and weak points.

I had trouble with the clutch as well. The pickup seemed to be very high. The shifter was very smooth though. The car I drove seemed to handle fine, although I'm not sure if it had the RFTs. The styling has grown on me. Although it is a bit subtle, it seems attractive. I tried posting on bimmerfest a couple of times and regretted it. They are a bunch of a-holes. It's nice to see and hear from a friendly BMW owner. Enjoy your car. |

Sad to say, there always have been and always will be badge whores that are simply incapable of taking negative views as if they themselves are major stockholders for the automaker. I've been lurking behind the scenes over on E90post.com and the lexus forums and read some posts that make a preschooler look like a genius.
As for bashing you, why bother? It's your money and your choice. If someone disrepects you for your decision, then they should just .

great post. I myself was actually tossed up between the 335i sedan and g35 S. Both are beutiful cars and great choices, i ended up with the G. BUt i do agree with you 100% as i was posting on e90 post myself to find somethings out and wow are those kids really fanboys. They swear that there car is honestly untouchable in every aspect. Anything that i said negitive about the car (even though i was also praising it in the same sentence) they went nutz lol. I did also check lexus club as well becasue for like a week i was thinking is350 (that ended rite after the test drive), and those ppl are seriosly even worse. They really swear that they are driving a buggati veyron or something lol. This really is a cool forum though, theres a few people who are shmucks sometimes, but for the most part everyone is real cool.
BTW great choice with the 335 and best of luck with it.

I would have to say that it is very close between the 335 and the G35. Pricing made the difference for me in December.
However, when the new M3 with the 420 Hp 4 liter V8 comes out, it will be pretty tough for most similarly priced cars to compete with on a performance basis. Also kinda surprised to hear BMW may have paint issues as well. Last edited by terrycs; 04-24-2007 at 11:55 PM. |

Im just the type of person who tells things like it is. Some people are so nearsighted that they refuse to hear the truth about things. I keep telling them, just because its got a Roundel on the hood, doesnt make it infallible.

this is a 335i sedan your talking about right...we're also in the same boat that you've been in and now i'm leaning more towards the G mainly because of the price of the bimmer and the fact that many owners have their cars in the shop too often. not to mention, the G stands out soo much more and as an ego booster i want the g in red haha. J/K
and i do agree with you, this forum has a far greater maturity level than any BMW or Lexus forum. defenitly on par with nissanmurano.org if not a tad more sophisticated(shh don't tell the guys i said that haha) but i really do want it in red l \ V
