There not but the 3000gt VR4 shared a VERY similar engine to the dodge stealth.

Not just the 3000gt/stealth but there's a few more that are "cloned".

Dodge imported the Mitsubitchie under their own name. They changed the body panels just a tad but it's all Mitsu under the hood. Nothing new. Car makes have been doing this for a long time.

The more interesting one is the now discontinued Saab X2. aka Subaru WRX wagon.

Just like Mitsubishi Eclipse & Eagle Talon Mitsubishi 3000GT & Dodge Stealth both shares the same motor. Mitsubishi calls there TT 3000gt Vr4 & Dodge calls there version R/T Twin Turbo. Infact Dodge avenger also shares the same motor as the Mitsu Eclipse. Even if you look back to those 1985 Doge Omni you'll see it has Mitsubishi Colt motor under the hood. Now the biggest difference between 3000GT Vr-4 vs Dodge stealth was basicly vr-4 came with the active aero package something Dodge never offer for Stealth. And from 95-99 All Vr-4 had 6 speed transmission made by GetRag.

it was heavy because of awd right? it was still twin turbo and priced to compete with the supra.

the VR4 was heavy...

it was AWD and AWS, but unlike the 1% for the G37, the VR4 claimed to move the rear wheels up to 5% to help steer the car. Also the car had some kind of twin exhaust mode so you could change from "sport" to "non sport", it was on the 94s and older, and it barely changed the sound so I am not sure what it really did. Add that to the active aero and she was a very heavy girl.
Both the front skirt and the deck spoiler changed positions above 50 MPH.

Those TTs added about 100 HP over the stock 6 cl motor you could buy in the non turbo model, and she stuck to the pavement like glue with all those options. I could get jail time for the curves I took at high speed in that car, but she had so much downforce and weight and grip that I never felt like I was near the cornering limits, and I took very tight on ramps @ triple digits- sounds crazy but this car would not move sideways so you could not tell you were really traveling that fast onto a highway.
