2008 Corvette LS3?

There is some info on the 'net about the 08 corvette getting a 6.2 L engine codenamed LS3. They are saying 435 HP. As if it wasn't fast enough. Samre engine might make its way into the new Camaro.

I was never a fan of the previous generations of Camaros, but anyone here considering one?

they are saying that there will be 4 versions of the new slowmarrow, which at least one will be faster than the vette. Pretty stupid business strategy if you ask me.

waste of damn time... the only Corvette's that ever mattered were the Z06...
all the rest are irrelevant!
for example take the 2007 Z06 and check the specs..
it pulls over 1g on the lateral scale (which means it will outhandle pretty much any factory car on the planet including Ferraris and any Japanese car)
it's light, and the 500 hp and 500lb of torque are all available low in the RPM range.. most of it around 3000rpm...

and PLEASE do not judge the Z06 by what that FORZA SHOWDOWN show on SpeedVision... the punk kid who drives that thing, Jace... he should be sent back to go kart school..... he has noooooooooo idea how to drive that thing, and if he did, it would destroy any car in that competition without breaking a sweat.

the last pic just goes to show how much of a fan I am of the Z06... and I'm the dude who thinks American cars are only made for straightline... but the
Z06 is the USA's only weapon against the rest of the car world

You're right, I didn't even notice forst time around. Wheels look pathetic. Exterior styling is nice. Interior is a little GM'ish.

Can't wait for some mag to do a comparison between the SS Vet and the
newest edition of the Viper. I'm not totally sold that $100K would be worth
it......probably would be!

i dont know man, it's still raw power. i think a carrera turbo would become a better choice at that price level.

I plan on buying a new Camaro when they come out, if I can afford it at the time. I'm a die hard Camaro and Firebird fan, I've owned three and I'm really looking forward to the new one. I'll keep the G35 for my wife.

There is still no offical information on how many versions, just rumors so far. "Slowmarrow"? An LS1 Camaro (98-02) could hit high 12's in the 1/4 mile with a good driver, hardly slow.

LS1 camaros were definitely not SLOW, but their interior was as cheap as they come.

The new Camaro interior has much higher quality materials. If they build the show car, it will be a hit. The new Mustang is a big disappointment. Crappy interior (buttons out of a 1980's car), and old-tech suspension. I hope GM does a better job with the Camaro. Although I may not buy one, I'd like to see them get it right.

I had a 97 Formula Firebird, and yes the interior was cheap, it was laid out really nice and I liked the design, but the materials left a lot to be desired. The interior and size of the car (a little bit too long) were my only complaints about the car, and it looks like both those will be fixed with the new Camaro.

I guess it wouldn't make sense to put a better interior on the camaro and not on the corvette.
