850 HP Chrysler?

Check this new supercar from chrysler out. I accually like the way the body looks, but the tail lights are freaking me out...the article on it says there are 96 LEDs in the lights! Its got crazy numbers right now too...0-60 in 2.9. What are your thoughts on this bad boy. If I had the cash, I dunno if I would be comfortable buying something this exotic from a company that makes minivans...haha

Re: 850 HP Chrysler?

It's decently attractive...I'm not a fan of the Chrysler symbol inset in the front bumper the way it is...I guess if the interior were impressive and I wanted something different this car would be a consideration

As far as the company it comes from, I really don't count past models from companies like Chrysler against them when building a six-figure supercar...I don't care for the Viper at all but I'm sure this ride is much better engineered with more specialized components and attention to detail and innovation...Supercars are a different animal then their sports car counter-parts, in my opinion, regardless of the company it comes from...If Hyundai were to develop and manufacture a car that could slap around a Murcielago or out-perform a McLaren F1 I'd look past the nameplate and focus on the build quality and performance

SnM: I agree with you completely. At a supercar price, you have to expect perfection. I like the looks of that thing quite a bit actually.

Re: 850 HP Chrysler?

thats a hell of a deal and i think that deffently will hand the enzo its ***. The only thing that can put down numbers better then that thing will be the Bugatti eb 16/4 and that in the million dollar range.

Re: 850 HP Chrysler?

I doubt even the Bugatti will be able to hand the Chrysler its ***, but it'll be close... and the two cars do have some similarities to them... like the seven speed manual and the quad turbo...
but the Bugatii is aimming for a curb weight of 3700 lb... that's 3.75 lb per hp, whereas the Chrysler has a power/weight ratio of 3.36 lb per hp... that plus its lower weight, the Chrysler will probably whoop the Bugatti AND the Enzo on a track.. That being said, the Bugatti has 4wd, so it'll be better in the wet... besides, the Bugatti is marketed as almost a GT, not a pure sports car, so maybe Audi will take the Bugatti platform and change it into something even more monstrous....

Re: 850 HP Chrysler?

Yup, I wouldnt mind having a Veyron. I think I would get the Diamond Incrusted gauges as an option

Re: 850 HP Chrysler?

If I could, I wouldn't mind having both... along with an Enzo, a Carrera GT, and a Zonda.....
come to think of it, I don't think anyone would mind.... ^_^
