BMW estimates 0-62 to be 4.8 seconds. Now I know that with a V8 it will likely have a high trap speed and better pull up top . But that 0-62 seems low to me relative to the current 335. I know 0-60 isn't everything but I was expecting an even more aggressive 0-60 estimate.

After much anticipation among the motoring enthusiast crowd, the next generation of BMW’s legendary M3 has finally been revealed. And for the first time in its 15-year history the M3 will get V8 power. Under the bulging hood will lurk a 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, teamed with a 6-speed manual transmission rather than the controversial sequential manual gearbox (SMG). BMW claims 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds with a governed top speed of 155 mph. The bold fender flares, air intakes, side sills and discreet rear spoiler will help differentiate the M3 from the standard 3-Series.

The E46 M3 had a 0-62 time of 5.1, which translated into a 0-60 time of 4.8, so the E92 0-60 time of 4.8 should translate into a 0-60 time of about 4.5, with the 1/4 mile coming in the mid to high 12's.

Don't pay attention too much to "0-60".

I'd rather see what it does in the 1/4 ET and what it traps.

No but I think some Italian cars might have it as standard
