Compare on Edmunds.com and see if I'm not telling you the truth. They have the right pricing philosophy for the American buyer who's too saave to pay Msrp though, and they're laughing all the way to the bank.
+1. I was shocked to see my Dad's new fully loaded GX470 sticker at $59K and invoice at $50K....they were awfully nice too, even called to asked how things were going and to bring the car by for a run down of the features.

The new IS is by far my least favorite of the significant cars in the entry level luxury class. Almost all the cars in the class are quite good, though, so enjoy.

my biggest issue with the is350 is...its too small....just like the 3 series and the new 1 series too tiny for someone over 270lbs

Upon arrival, a Greddy exhaust will be put on. Not including ttt, the IS350 is just over $42k (MSRP was about 46k with all options). I realize that a loaded G37 at MSRP would be less than the IS350, but the money is not the issue. I simply will not pay MSRP for any vehicle and give the sales person / dealership 4k over invoice. Three Infiniti dealerships were firm, MSRP and they had the nerve to state, "order now and we won't put on any addendum fees". They are simply NUTS!

Again, in no way am I knocking the G37 but please, it is an Infiniti. Infiniti rates below Lexus for a reason. Just as Audi rates below BMW. Sort of like second tier. More so, the Infiniti dealerships seem to play games. JM Lexus was straight forward and the deal was done in less than an hour; no hassle, fair deal, respectful, with no games.
that's bs. You should drive your new IS to the infiniti dealership and tell 'em you would rather spend more to get a deal then to line their dumb azz pockets at msrp.....jack azzes

What exactly are you basing this off of? I know for a fact I would never own any of the current Lexus line-up when I have Infiniti offering cars that are better looking and better performing, for cheaper. You can choose whichever car you want, thats all you. Just don't go saying "Lexus is better than Infiniti because, well its a Lexus." I'd take my G over any model Lexus.

Have fun with your new car!!

+1 ..... If your assumption is based on price for the same class then you are right.....
But we are here for different car .... I would presonally choose G anyday over I350.... but there would be people who think otherwise (like you). Both are fine....

You're a nice mom to give the 2 year old IS350 to your son as a high school car.....

Either way I believe the G37's interior has been a big improvement. Having never owned a Lexus though so I can't comment on the service or build.

I'm not so sure however saying that Infiniti and Audi are second tier. BMW's sell CHEAPER cars than Infiniti. Isn't the G35 its cheapest car? With the new 1 series out for BMW I don't believe it has its name association anymore. Driving in the DC area everyone and their mother has a Bimmer. Their low lease options also help 18 year olds driving them around. I'm not saying its a bad brand as I've owned one before and loved it but top tier above Infiniti? I'm not so sure anymore.

What is wrong with Lexus. I love my G, but the new IS350 is bada$$ and faster than a G35.

You talk about your G as if it is the only nice car period.

I start yawning every time i drive my cousin's IS350. Its a great car for people that are in their 40s, single, like boat that is fast and in order to change lanes you have to turn the steering wheel 2 full revolutions.

Congrats on the purchase though. U get what makes u happy. The above comment is sorely my personal thought about the car.

Well I'm in my 40's but don't qualify for your other generalizations.

DropTopGal,

so would you had waited for the g37 if say lexus dealerships refuse to sell is350 below msrp? or what if the bmw 335 coupe/sedan was selling substantially below msrp and nearly the price of a non-negotiable is350? just want some philosophical discussion on the infiniti bashing because of the msrp pricing...

IMHO, the is250/350 are way overpriced for what they are... on a second note, i'd rather (and did) pay several thousand below msrp (1500 below invoice) for my g35 sedan because the lexus dealers wouldn't budge on the is350 back in dec 05 .... heck my g was lower cost than the is250....

is350 are nice looking, a little too sharp and razor edge sometimes and for a sedan the rear passenger space was a joke of a 4door of this size...

Wrong. The Lexus may be slightly or the same as the G37 in straight line acceleration, but from what I've heard and read from real life experiences - the thing is terrible around corners. I never said anything is wrong with Lexus, but I would take any G35 Coupe/G35 Sedan/G37 Coupe over any Lexus any day. They just look like a boring car and again, from what I've said the handling is ****ty. Plus the G is cheaper and basically the same in straight line performance, with enough mods to get to the IS350 price rang you basically can make the G faster or just as fast.

But yes, I do love my G and I think it is one damn sexy car and I would not trade it for anything other than something 90K+.

I think you only live on straight line dude..... try cornering next time ok?
Nobody bashed the IS350. We are here because we want a different feel of car...... but saying that Lexus > Infiniti is stupid generalization ....like when she said bmw>audi .... we all know audi has RS4 and R8 which BMW doesnt even have its halo car compete with....
