This is why i love the 335i, so easy to tune! There was a 4 door running out at my local track about 2 months ago. Everything was stock except the tune and he was running 12.8-12.9 all night!

AND it's an automatic. Very nice.

Anybody have any idea what that handheld thingamabob was at the end of the second video. It seemed like it was some sort of portable weather station that automatically calculated DA. I want that.

Almost all the auto times have been faster than the MT times with the 335i (so far); the 3rd to 4th shift is super hard to hit in the MT, and of course the auto never misses.

the m3 is faster then a stock 335i...but it only takes about $1000.00 to get the 335i to be faster than a stage 3 supercharged m3.

The 335i is fast. I raced one at my local track; it was tuned, and I only saw its tailights from the start.

Turbo'd cars are so easy to mod.

But I'd rather get a slightly used 05-06 M3; you can't take away the spirit of an M powered car

.

Hey, Picus (our in-house BMW guru) - Can you tell me about the CDV mod? How much does it cost? How hard is it to do? And finally, is this something you could change out on a lease and then return the car back to BMW without changing it back?

In terms of the drag strip - ALOT of BMW 335 guys are slapping drag radials on their car. It's weird seeing the 3-series at the drag strip like that.

So to answer questions: It costs nothing to DIY, about an hour. From a mechanic maybe 1/hr labor. It is not hard at all. And yes, you could easily do it on a lease then put it back before return.
