Spent the Day Driving Grannys Taurus

All i can say is wow, this is one slick machine!



Its a 2004 SES and there is a lot wrong with it. First, a colume mounted shifter. I mean COME ON! This is a family sedan not a pickup truck.

Second, the throttle responce is terrible. You try to drive it normally and it takes off from you making for a jerky ride.

Third, its slow. Its quick, but reaallllly slow.

Fourth, when carrying two passengers in the backseat it squats BADLY. Like it looks like a low rider.

Fifth, theirs 6 seats!!! WHOS GONNA SIT IN THE FRONT?

Sixth, the seats are godawful uncomfortable.

Seventh, the trunk lid feels like your lifting a wrecking ball trying to put it up.

Honestly this is the WORST car i have ever driven. I got back tonight and took a drive around the block in our Tailblazer and was like YES, a proper car!

Im trying to talk my granny into trading it off on a Buick, but their family only owns Fords so it has to be a Ford and im like u nerds.

So if your in the market for a nice midsize, get a pontiac/buick.

+1 on pontiac as an alternative, but saying the taurus is the worst car is a bit extreme. its a low- to mid-priced car designed for normal driving. its neither sexy, fast, or luxurious, but the designers didn't intend it to be.

It's not that bad of a looking car... looks 100 times better than most of the **** on the road today.

SHe lives in Hastings Nebraska, is 85 and has very little money. She cant afford a 30k car lol

She likes her Taurus and makes fun of the Taurus Car Club of America lol Shes like "Why on earth and heavens would you modify a Taurus? Its a little old ladies car!" lol

Yeah the non-24-valve 3 litre is a dog. Put Granny in GT500. Or if she is stuck on a Ford, a NEW Taurus, formerly the Ford 500. It's funny-lookin', but at least has the 3.5 260hp mill.

lol She likes the Buick. I showed her the new Taurus.

And heres a catch, she cant drive. Her right foot doesnt work lol. My aunt drives for her. So yea, she cant drive haha

Funny thing is that when I sold Ford's they were the easiest car to sell. Every single Taurus I pushed I sold (and I was and average salesman).

The people that want a Taurus just want transportation and had no desire to haggle. No frills but as mentioned before, it gets the job done.

I've instructed both of my kids to immediately shoot me if, when I get old, I mention I'm considering a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis, both of which seem to be the quintessential retiree vehicle... yeccchhhhhh!

lol, this reminds me of when i had a malibu for a week as a rental car when my was getting fixed. dear god i almost walked instead of driving the car.

^I'd much rather have a Malibu than a Taurus. BUT it'd have to be either an SS Malibu or the LTZ.

And why do old people INSIST on driving huge cars? Half them cant drive for sh** why the hell would you want to drive a car the size of France if you cant drive to begin with?

Old People+Those cars=BIG mistake. Or an accident waiting to happen

I had a friggin Malibu POS when I was in Phoenix a couple weeks ago. Haven't missed my G so bad since I had that Dodge Caliber in Ottawa.
