Are the IS350's really that much faster?

I was just browsing through dragtimes and I seen some times posted for a few very slightly modded IS350's. One was 13.04 @ 105 and the other was like 13.1 @ 105 or something. These also had slips to prove it. Quite a few of the is's were in very low 13 second times. How the hell are these cars so fast?

I actually had a run in with a modded is350 (seen the exhuast) on the belt parkway with my 07 G and in the 60 mph rang we were pretty even...anything over that I was pullin on him pretty bad.

It could be due to Direct Injection making it more mod friendly... wild guess tho

maybe a weight difference? the IS350 is smaller then the g35

there curb weight is 3527...pretty much the same as us.

those are low ETs for not that fast of a trap speed.

never looked it at that way...drag radials will really improve your ET that much? yea 105 is a decent trap but for 13 flat its a lil on the low side.

My last car was Is300 which i loved, & i was one of the first people to put a deposit for the Is350 when they first came out, however the reason i end up not buying the new IS because simply first & most i hated the way it handles, & second all though it has 306hp but, it doesn't feel that fast.

Again please don't get me wrong it's a very nice car, matter of fact i am planning on getting the ISF500 sometimes next year. However compare to is350 i think my g35 coupe is much more fun to drive...

Lexus Is-F 500 that's the sedan, waite another year then you'll see the Coupe.

that is-f is a sick car....going to be quite expensive though. I was told around 650 a month for is350 on a 24 month lease...so im guessin that should be a nice G note a month when it first comes out.

There's a video of a 07 G35 sedan 6mt vs. IS350 at highway speeds. The IS350 gets an initial jump but then the G35 starts reeling him in.
