2007 Nissan Altima

Just saw a commercial about the 270hp Altima.

How would you like to get creamed by one of those at the strip???

I got a rev-up lower intake plenum, oem sport tuned sway bars, 19" oem wheels, and a coupe exhaust (b-pipe and muffler) for sale.

Creamed? Sure, if you don't know how to drive.

I thought this was a G35 Coupe 2003-2007 Sub-Forum

I have driven the new altima and the cvt transmission takes away from the performance more than it should. If Nissan would have placed a 5 speed auto the car would not only feel like it performs better but would be a blast to drive.

I am not a big fan of CVT's or fwd cars.

Okay, maybe I was a bit over doing it in my statement.

I was just surprised to see that it had that much power.

In the commercial they said that the car as shown was $31K. I thought my tongue would hit the floor.

Didn't realize it had a CVT in it too.

Worst thing a car enthusiast can have in his car is CVT; I'd rather walk

Add FWD and you have one very boring car for an enthusiast.

I've driven the Altima coupe 6MT. It's a great car, certainly a better one than its competitors (Accord coupe and Solara). However, it is a car for the masses, not the enthusiast. It is in no way, shape, or form a poor man's G35 as so many like to call it. In person, the car is damn sexy and has great tech features, but it drives as it should for its intended market: easy, soft, and comfortable. In a straight line, the Altima would give first gen G35's a run for their money (if it was a 6MT that is).

I have an '04 6mt G35 coupe and an '05 Altima 5 mt sedan with 260 hp. The Altima is quick, but not as quick as the G35 or anywhere near as fun to drive, and there's a lot of torque steer with the front wheel drive. I assumed a lease on the Altima for $225 per month for 17 months remaining including tax, and that's hard to beat, and I can buy it in October of this year for about $14,300, which is a pretty good deal for a spacious four door base sedan with power everything, CD and AC, but no leather or sunroof, with basically our same engine and with 20K miles on it.
