Muranos suck at handling

I loved this thing on the hiway, quiet, economical, some power for a cvt, but on an offramp, doing 30 or so in a medium grade turn, the back end started to go. This was with the 18s on stock rubber. Anyone experience the Murano in the turns? This is definately not close in handling to the rx300, or the x5, IMO.

Well, geez, I mean it is an SUV, what did you expect, it to handle like a G35? Bet it still handles better than say a Ford Explorer!

Re: Muranos suck at handling

Its super smooth, I never really floored it, as I was lving the MPG. It feels weird to floor a cvt, its kinda wimpy, so I resisted doing it. I dont see it as I see a FX35.

I agree , this is not for turns, but I was driving slow, 1 handed, and the backend went out, That put a damper on my ski weekend funtime driving. I still went up hills, and some snowy fields, but no turns....

Re: Muranos suck at handling

The cvt feels weird, cuz it floods the rpms, not quite used to it. Felt like an auto.slushbox, like a turbo 1.8t Audi auto. I despise those.

Some SUVs handle like a dream Ever drive a loaded FX? They're fuuuuun.

The Murano's engine is a little on the anemic side-- We threw a Murano next to an FX and floored them across the dealer's street and, well, we'll not go into the results. Sufficed to say, the FX crossed the finish line before the Murano even got to 3k RPM.

It's not made for sport...
