Should Infiniti come out with G37TT to compete with this?

Man, I saw these pics from another forum and it made me feel damn horny. You guys thing Infiniti should have a twin turbo version of the G37 with the concept car as the exterior? They already have all the hardware. Even if you don't like BMW, these pics just look hot. Check out the pic with exhaust. The rear diff has heat sink.

Think you may be referring to the GT-R. The Nissan Skyline is the G37. I doubt a TT G37 will come out, it would bascially be a GT-R, which would not make since.

So that confirms that unlike the 335i the M3's differential is limited-slip like our G's.
All the previous M's (e30, e36, e46) also had LSD's with finned diff covers... if driven hard, especially in the corners, the diff fluid gets mighty hot. My buddy with an e36 would always get hot fluid leaking out of his diff's vent opening at the track, but never during normal driving.

A G37TT would compete with something higher than the M3...like the Lexus LF-A

I think a G37TT would put its power anywhere from 450-500hp... too much to compete with an M3 or Lexus IS-F.

Just pure speculation, but I think Infiniti will place a larger V8, probably a 4.7 liter(?), in the G37 body and make it compete with its class.

All speculation ofcourse... but a G37TT would definately by competeting with something higher than the M3.

PS. I LOVE those new M3

Nope. The stock g37 thrashes the entire 3 series line except for two cars, the twin turbocharged 335i and the M3, both of which cost a lot more similarly equipped.

On the high performance side they have the GT-R, which thrashes the 335i and M3. So Nissan has a "sandwich" squeeze on BMW coming down with the release of the GTR very shortly. When that release of the GT-R happens, take a look at the performance, pricing and value considerations, and then judge.

There is no need to have the stock G37 beat the M3. They want to sell cars, a LOT of cars, just like BMW. They will do it the way the G37 is now with the significant price/value/performance bundle they deliver compared to the stock 3 series.

On the high performance side, they will take the cheese with the GTR.

If somebody does not want to spend the semolians for a GTR, they can go aftermarket on the G37 and deliver a package that will outperform the M3, and for less total invested dollars. No need for Nissan to do it, the market will not be big enough, and would detract from GTR sales potentially. And remember, if you like the M3....BUY IT! It is a fabulous car. A deserving benchmark and legend. If anybody cannot respect, indeed can restrain themselves from going into rhapsody over the M3, they are not objective. It is one of the finest driving machines ever made. But it is far from invincible. A lot can be done to make it better. And a lot of cars can be made to be better. It is not easy, but it is done and done all the time.

Lots of sleepless nights in Germany happening right now, you can bet on it.

Awesome post, I agree with your statement and feel that is exactly what Nissan/Infiniti is doing.
