Anyone experience an Avis Mustang GT Convertible?

Hi guys.

Out on the west coast, and I am a little confused. (An very inebrieted too).

I just got back by taxi from my client dinner, and I'm still confused from earlier today. I got here, and there were no fullsize cars left, so they left me with the choice of the Escape, Sebring Convertible, and an 07 Mustang GT Convertible.

I thought it would be the 6 cylinder Mustang, so I passed, and went with the Escape, but at the last minute, I joked with the guy about the 6 cylinders, and he goes "no, seriously, its a GT". So I said, alright, gimme that.

Anybody out here have experience with the GT Convertible? It drives so different from the GT Coupes I've driven. This car, with traction control off, couldn't even break the rears loose. The car shaked and moaned over bumps, and honestly, power from a dig, or power from a roll, the car was no faster than say, my Avalon or an Accord, maybe even slower. There was no V8 torquey thrust at all, compared to the other 05+ Mustangs I've driven.

Is this a result of the convertible model, or do you think Avis detunes the cars? I was just thoroughly disappointed in the car. I like domestic muscle, always have, and I really enjoy the current mustang GT coupes, but really, this Avis GT sucked.

I thought I'd share my experience.

GT Convertible Mustang cars are definitely fun to drive plus you get all the attention. It maybe somewhat have a different feel compared to GT Coupes but in time you'll get a hang of it.

Are you sure its a GT or was the guy just a dumba$$ at the counter? Look under the hood, or look at the grill for REAL big foglights, not some little wimpy things like on the 'pony package'

Because even as a convertible, it should still be able to do this:

maybe its just worn out from being raped by the previous drivers lol but i did hear the rental companies were putting in some system where they can see if the car was raced or abused and maybe that also lets them detune it. IDK just a guess

Even then, it would still have a torquey thrust. My Mom's 5.7L Jeep is very heavy but it still slams you back in your seat when you get on it.
