Decisions Decisions, g35 or X5

Yo everyone. Im in a dilemma. Im either wanting to buy a G35 or X5. I understand these are both completly diff cars but i just don't know which one to get. The G35 would be a great fast cool car where the X5 i would probably put 22's, 4-5tv's, etc. I just dunno! I love both cars. My parents have a suv, so if i ever needed a bigger car i guess i could take there car, but its completly stock with nothing on it. What you G35 lovers think??

At an X5 price range, why don't you get the M3? It really depends on your criteria. If you want something like the G35, and price is not an object, I'd suggest you get the M3.
X5 is in a different price range, so I assume money is not an object for you.

If you are going to get an X5, look at the FX, too. Drive them both, then look at the backseat of both of 'em. Hmm... big difference. Which engine would you want in the X5?

The M3 is out of my range price wise. If i were to get the X5 it would be a new 3.0 or most likely a used 4.4 and maybe if i could find a used cheap 4.6. I was looking at the FX but i prefer the looks of the X5 and when i drove the X5 it drove great. Thanks

I think you can get the FX45 for the price of the X5 3.0 (comparing new models). I guess if you don't like the looks of the FX, it's not for you then. You either love the looks of the FX or hate them.

az_g35... get the G35. you've already got the screen name for it.

seriously though, it depends on what kind of drive you want and what you'll be using the vehicle for. if you want a fast, cool car or a really nice looking, u-hauling ride, then the answer is easy. as far as SUVs go, i like the drive of the FX, but the looks are definitely with the BMW for me. good luck with your choice!

Re: Decisions Decisions, g35 or X5

i hate goddamned suvs. do yourself (and the environment, and fellow drivers) a favor and get the G.

not to mention the fact that suvs can't "drive well" because they're SUVs. and how usable is a 3.0 suv? if you need a large haul-*** car, i'd get a regular truck. much more utilitarian than an suv, no doubt. suvs are simply tacky ways to scream suburban soccer mom that lives with excesses and wont' ever go off-road.

hey, go test drive an evo.... then decide

Spoken like a true man who hasn't driven an FX or Cayenne The FX is more like a stationwagon in its height profile, and definitely drives well... not to mention it's more we've gotten more utility out of it than we ever did with our truck. But I digress...

PS- You're not really doing much good for the environment if you get a G... Checked it's gas mileage recently?

Re: Decisions Decisions, g35 or X5

depends on what you consider "drive well" i guess. can an fx or cayenne out handle ...say, a mazdaspeed protege?...

and truck platforms do not have to worry about emissions as normal sedans... so i'd be very interested to see a test of an suvs' emissions compared to a G...

Listen to a person who has both!

Funny, I should read this post. I have a G35 , but before I got my G, I leased a 2001 3.0 X5. Yes they are two different vehicles.

The X5 is an amazing SAV. Its comfortable, it handles well, and will provide more space if you haul stuff. The G cannot haul what the X5 can. I have the sport suspension with G, so they both ride firm.

You really have to determine which vehicle better suits your needs. If you choose to buy an X5 and can afford it go 4 the 4.4, 315 hp. BIG DiFFERERNCE! Significantly more torque and power than the 225 hp 3.0. Though I throughly enjoy the 3.0, I am sure I would have appreciated the 3.0. My wife primarily drives the X5 with the kids.

The G is an amazing car if hod rodding is what you like to do go 4 the G. Don't think you can't haul in the X5 becuz you can, but not like you can in a G.

Well both cars are available in all wheel drive. I guess you have to test drive both cars and see which one really does it for you.

Good luck!
