Winter Car

After much deliberation, I am picking up a 2007 Altima 2.5SL for my winter car. Got it white as that seems to be the only color I buy. I wanted something good on gas but comfortable. The SL package loads this up fairly well and this seems to be the best value in it's class. With Blizzaks this car will do a fine job on ice and snow. I am not head over heels about the looks but it is just as nice as it's competition. I pick it up Tuesday and will take some shots and post for anyone that might care.

What cars were you cross-shopping this with? Camry/Accord? I would have probably made the same choice in that case.

That will be a great winter car Mark, especially with the Blizzaks you'll be running. I love the look of the new Altys, and IIRC the SL is the loaded 2.5 with leather, correct?

I had an 03 Alty, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second owning another, they are a great car. Post pics when you get it.

Yes Camry and Accord. The reviews on this car were almost all positive and they have good resale value.

Correct. SL is loaded except NAV. Power seats, smart ignition, 6 disk changer, heated power leather seats. This is a really nice car at a very decent price. And the EPA numbers are impressive on the 2.5. I think this is a good choice. I have seen one in white and it looked good in that color. Mind you I think almost everything looks good in white.

Picked up the Altima last week. Nicely equipped for the price. Should make a good winter driver.

Looks great Mark, definitely a sweet winter car. If I had to guess right now, I'd have to say my next vehicle will be white. I just bought Blizzaks for my 07 Sedan and should get them in the next week or so. Blizzaks will work great on your Alty.

nice!

i'm thinking of doing a lease on an altima to use as a winter beater/dd....the G is becoming more and more of a weekend car...they're pretty cheap to lease too (lots of incentives and high resale keeps the cost down)...not to mention my monthly lease for Altima < gas for the G

Why not an Impreza dressed in winter shoes?

Very nice. Good choice. We may be considering getting something new for my wife and the Alty will be on the list. Definitely would want the 2.5 for the economy as a city grocery getter mostly.

Nice car. I got my "winter car" in June. They sacrifice their lives so that the toys in the garage can be pampered in the winter.
