2004/2005 Toyota Supra
Has anyone heard anything about the new supra coming out? I've been thinking of getting a G recently, but after hearing Toyota may bring back the supra...i think I should wait...

Re: 2004/2005 Toyota Supra
I know many of the owners of 03 will hate me for this, but I, don't like buying the car the year it comes out. Usually there are some minor flaws, and if you're unlucky, major ones that will be fixed in the mid-year production or the next year.
I would put money the new Supra will be a competition to our G's (and will be way better if they have TT options), but you're going to have to wait a while. Still, it may be worth it. After all, Supra is a big name, hopefully Toyota will live it up. Black / Black 2004 GcoupeMT. Premium. Splash Guardz. |

Re: 2004/2005 Toyota Supra
I hear that it will be in the $30,000 range so it can compete with the 350z. It will also come in 3.0L and 3.5L trims, but I hear Toyota will advoid twin turbos to maintain a competitive cost...

Re: 2004/2005 Toyota Supra
If toyota makes another Supra I don't think you will see it until 2005 at the earliest. And judging by all their other cars it will be ugly as hell.

Re: 2004/2005 Toyota Supra
There's a thread in the 'other cars' section called "Toyota ditched the supra.." No supra coming here anytime soon

Re: 2004/2005 Toyota Supra
I read on a Supra forum that the article was wrong and that toyota is working on the supra for 2005/2006, aslo that it would be availble in a v6 or v8 no turbo option =(

Re: 2004/2005 Toyota Supra
Autoweek is wrong and you're believing the guys on the forum? Supra forum by any chance? Wishful thinking perhaps? Well known that Toyota and Nissan are making moves to present their prestige marques to the home market. Lexus LFS concept just seen in auto shows over the past couple months- while I believe the automotive press over a bunch of folks like you and I on a forum, I hafta wonder if the next "supra" will come to market as a toyota, or perhaps a Lexus. Acura NSX, Infiniti G35 Coupe, I wouldn't be surprised if Lexus plunked a GT coupe in the middle, a la BMW 645 but less expensive, into the market based upon the LFS showcar platform, especially since the SC430 has not done so well. If they did it right, and the LFS is a pretty starting point, they could really take a chunk out of the Euro high end performance coupte sales.
Cheers, Derek DB |
