Please help me decide.

Here is the situation: After having the car for almost 3 years I still love it so much that i want to keep it. My lease is up next year and I am still going to owe them about 20k. Is it a stupid idea to finance the car after the lease? I know I am going to end up paying more than 45k for the car. But i mean i have test driven the 07 G35, 335I, Z4 3.0Si. They does not compare to my car the way it feels. If 335I had LSD it would be a hard choice, but since it does not, nothing can touch my cars balance when it gets to the limit. I have only spent about $500 on suspension and this bitch keeps up with stock s2ks in the canyons. I know, I probably sound like a fan boi but I don't want to let go of this car. . If I keep the car coupe seats, and tune is coming up. In few years a brand new paint job.

Any suggestions?

How many miles are on the car? If it's truly going to cost you 45K in the end, then definitely not worth keeping it IMO. How can the total cost be that much? I've never leased a car before, but they don't take what you made for payments during your lease & credit that towards what the car was worth when you first got it?

I dunno Vlad, i think you'd be better off giving it up at the lease and maybe buying a used 04 or 05 with low to mid miles and not so much beating on the car. I know you drive the hell out of yours, and you probably have alot of miles too. This way, you'll be able to almost start out fresh. Do the same suspension mods to the new one and beat it up all over again.

^the other issue is, my front bumper needs to be fixed when i take it back, i got some minor dents and stuff throughout the car (got stuck in the snow LONG STORY LOL). I don't want to fix all that and give the car up. The other thing is that, I would not buy a used car without knowing what happened to it. I maintain this car religiously and have not had a single problem with it. AHHH, I dont know my friends think im crazy for thinking about keeping it, I don't know . Shiet if i knew i would like this car so much i would just finance it from the beginning.

That's a tough decision Klubb, i probably would be in the same boat as you when my lease is up on my 07 sedan, i love the car so i'm thinking of keeping it as well but see my residual in 3 years i believe would be a lot cheaper than yours though 19,xxx..

Only thing that's holding me back is the question, "how many years would they finance me on the 19g's that i still would owe? Not too sure if its worth but if your car never really gave you any huge problems and you feel you could still stretch out your cars life for a few more years i say go ahead and keep it, thats the situation i'm most likely going for when my lease is up

If you can find a better car to finance for $19K then buy it and turn in your leased car. Otherwise, it makes sense to purchase your lease.

^ I doubt that, the car that could possibly replace my at 20k car would be the E36 M3 but that is a old car already. And again it is going to be used by someone else. And I am very anal about braking the car in.

how many miles are you over? Im asking its because when I was shopping around glendale gave me a lease deal that when im over my miles they would not charge me for excess miles as long as I come back to them and upgrade or get another lease with glendale. but then I went o the different route and bought it any ways. By the way, where you at the burbank jamba juice last week? I thought i saw you.

A long lease followed by a short loan (2 yrs) tends to be fairly close to buying a car with a long loan (5+ yrs). It sounds like you are planning on a long lease followed by a long loan. The only thing I would caution you on is that you will be upside down on the loan after you buy it from the lease for quite a bit. But if you are going to buy a used car is there anyone you'd rather know was the previous owner than yourself?
Also wait til you are closer to the end date then call IFS to see if they are willing to deal on the purchase price. I have heard of people negotiating with both their local dealer and IFS. Can anyone confirm?
