What car to get!?
I love the 2007 Acura TL-S Specially that Moroccan Red Pearl Color, But I dont know, I like the new G37 but I hate buying a CAR BRAND NEW, it loses value like nothing, I can get a Used 07 TL-S For around $30k or so if I look around, so its already taken a hit on resale, so I can probably end up selling it for $25k+ in 2 Years, While a G37 Brand new will probably run $40k and Will be worth $27-30k in 2 Years, I dont change my cars up often, but I would like to have the option of Changing it if I find another car.
Also I like the TL, for some reason always have because its a Sedan, I dont know I am just not a Coupe type of Guy, Money isnt that big of a concern, But I wouldnt be able to go more thank $40k, so what all other choices do I have? The Main thing that Makes me love the TL-S is the Navigation, Its so great, and I have a 2003 G35 Sedan with Navi and it SUCKS! I know the newer ones are better in the New Infiniti's but are they on Par with the HONDA/ACURA Ones? So my Main Concerns: 1) Good Resale 2) Good Navigation 3) Good Reliability and Long Run TOO Any other Choices I have in My Price Range? Another thing I forgot to point out is, I hate buying a Car and finding out a New Generation is OUT! Thats why I am kinda staying away from the TL, because in a year there will be a 4th Generation out, while with the G37 I can have a car that wont get changed for 3 Years at least (Refresh) and 5 years for a New Generation

IS350?
1. I would think lexus has a great resale value. 2. My mom has a rx400h and the navi on it is amazing. I love it. 3. Lexus --> Toyota = Reliable my old 1997 ES300 went for 217,000 miles till I gave it to the dealership when I bought my G early this year. Never had any major problems with it.

However, I think you've got the major criteria pegged. Do some more testing on the nav systems and research on reliability/resale and make your decision. You seem to have answered your own question on the TL however concerning the upcoming new generation.

LOL I was about to point out the same contradiction. If money wasn't a concern, you wouldn't be worried about the depreciation. I think if you're a true car enthusiast, you would want a new car where you know it's been taken care for from day one. |

You don't like buying a new car because it loses its value like nothing? So you'd rather buy a car that already has lost its value?
Like everyone said, there's a contradiction in your statement. Money does seem to be an issue. I really don't get the logic you pointed out in regards to value and a new car. I would pick the G37 over the TL-S all day any day. It's sportier, RWD, faster, [in my opinion] classier, and more gadgets to play around with. Goodluck anyhow with your decision. FYI: [Most newer] Infiniti's, especially the G's, have an excellent resale value. . Last edited by Skaterbasist; 09-11-2007 at 03:54 PM. |

I'll say get a GS430. You can properly get an 06 under 40 now. In your defense I do feel you when you said money is not a major concern but still looking at the bigger depreciation hit on a new car. Just because you have money to spend does not mean you cannot spend it wisely. Nothing is wrong with trying to save some more money bro. Getting a new car is more a matter of preference.

I dunno. I figured I'd be kicking myself when the G37 came out. It came out, and I'm still happy with grabbing a G35 prematurely. To me, it's hard to tell teh two apart. Now, I'm hearing that the G37 isn't that much better in performance either. It's only really better loaded vs loaded, interior-wise.
As for the TL...maybe wait and see what the new ones look like. I know what you mean with the new revisions coming out and making your car look old....on this G35 forum, I bet we all do. I always recommend everyone to check out a TSX. It's like a smaller, sportier TL. It's not as quick, but the interior is just as nice, and it handles better. The acceleration seems pretty nice regardless (at least on the manual I drove), and it has awesome fuel economy. I never liked them until my brother got one, and I wish I could trade him for my G. Everything on the acuras seems so much better fitting than ours. |

Acuras are good cars, but, quite honestly, I haven't been interested in them since like 2002-2003, albeit only cause the RSX was the shiznit back then, when I was deciding between my first car(WRX or RSX).
All things aside...if the TL is FWD you have to get a G37. Once you drive a AWD or RWD its impossible to go back to FWD. A

I don't think the G depreciates that much. It has a pretty high resale value. It only loses more value when a new model comes out, like most cars. But other than that, the G still has a high resale value.
It seemed like you've made up your mind about getting the TL-S since all you ever talked about was TL-S. Maybe you should go with your instinct.

A CTS-V takes a huge hit the first 2-3 years. Fully loaded, RWD, 400HP, 2005 with about 32K miles would be around $30K They usually have 100K of warranty.
