Base Cayman or base Corvette

As a second car, which one would be your pick: Cayman or Corvette? Cayman supposedly has outstanding handling. Corvette has great acceleration, and very decent handling. Steering is supposed to have improved so much.

IMO vette. But it depends on many things. will you mod the car? etc... If you want to add performance the vette will be much cheaper to supercharge or add bolt ons the Porsche is going to be $$$ to make it even close to the vettes performance.

I would go for the Porsche anyday. I'd pick the Porsche over any american car anyday even if it's the Corvette, which is the only American car that deserves respect. I hate American Cars

-Too many Corvette owners around and most who own them are usually older men on their midlife crisis. Cayman owners are usually younger and more successful.
-The Cayman is a lot more trendier than the Vette, and the interior is more luxurious.
-The Cayman was compared to the EVOs, handling and precision. And even though the EVO still is a faster car, I'd still get the Cayman over the EVO any day.

Let's see "Hot chick goes, what do you drive?" A porsche. Or I drive a Chevrolet, but it's a corvette.
Maybe I'm just a little biased because I used to rape Vettes on the road when I had my WRX. Everytime I see one, I get disgusted and run after them.
But everytime I see a Cayman, I'm always falling back even though I know it's a slower car. Either I'm just embarrased coz his car is way sexier than mine or I just have much respect for them. I really can't explain it .

NOW if you're into fast cars. Get an EVO or an STi. Drop $5k and you're at an untouchable 500+whp, high 10s-low 11s on the 1/4 mile

"It's not how fast you can go, it's how you look when you're goin fast"

If you're 6'4" you're definitely not fitting in a Cayman. New Vettes have far more leg and side by side room.

Before dropping the money on a Cayman S...I'd get a Z06, exotic car like performance with the price and driveability you'd expect out of a DD. Sorry but its a Cayman, not a 911. Its a Porsche for women, just like its predecessor. Plus I see a lot of both in my area so the exclusivity isn't an option here. It'd probably be worse off with the Porsche since I see a lot more 911's so every other Porsche you see on the road will have a real Porsche.

Its not like the base Vette has horrible handling, and the 2008's get 30 extra horses.

Corvette, hands down. A friend has the Cayman. It's ok. A new Vette will destroy it. The only Porsche I'd own would be a 911... preferably a GT3. Then again you could own 2 Vettes for the price of a GT3.
