G35S Vs M45S

Hello everyone...
For those that haven't been keeping an eye on the picture thread I was not so smart and lent my now ex-gf my car while I was out of town and some numb noot pulled out in front of her and long story short did an estimated $10,200 worth of damage to my 5 month old car... Things get really fun since both air bags went off and they had to remove the ENTIRE dash to replace the dash board that was ripped in half by the passenger airbag. AAAAAnyway,

I have the opportunity to get an 06 M45 Sport for a good price that was a demo and was driven by the head manager of the dealership in my area. I was just wondering your thoughts on the two cars and what you would do in my situation. Would you hold onto the G or want to get rid of it asap. I have thoroughly enjoyed the car and there isn't really anything else on the market I want more but I am 6ft 8in and the added space of the M is greatly appreciated, especially when transporting other people which I do pretty often. Anyway... I was just wanting to pick you all's brains a bit and see what people thought...

The only reason to stick with the G would be if you have a 6-speed... M45s only come with 2 pedals.

Sorry to hear your trouble.

I know it seems to be no brainer go with M45s but I am not a big fan of the interior for the 06. You spend most of your time in the car. Interior is important factor. I would take 350 Lexus over the M45s. Also important factor as it mentioned the drivetrain. Do you like the 2 or 3 pedals? Also if you think selling it after several years that could be a downfall too. To sell an 07 G35S possible 08 vs. 06 M45S. I know it is a demo model but still an 06. Do you know what I mean? The M45 is a better car after all but is it better for you?

You want a luxo cruiser? Or a sports sedan?

The M45 does not even come close in terms of 'tossability', but for an over all cruiser... it's hot!

$10.2K estimate with a guaranteed supplement, dump the car now before you own it for life. It will be almost impossible to sale or trade without a significant loss down the road. I don't know what your states insurance regulations are but make sure you file a diminished value claim.

Drive it first

I was all set to buy an M45S until I drove it. Very touchy throttle, worse than the G. I really didn't like to way it handled, although it's very good for a big car.

I wanted it for the crotch cooler (AC seats), but after driving a few I just couldn't pull the trigger. Drove the G and I loved it and bought that.

We've got both - and they are simply different cars.
Don't have the touchy gas pedal you mention, but the M is certainly not as peppy on the launch.
G = sporty, M = cruiser.
The back seat in the M is ridiculous (HUGE) and the ride is stellar if you want something smoother - not numb, but not as exciting as the G.

I'd say go drive 'em and let us know what you think.
