2008 G35x Vs. 2008 Legacy GT Spec-B

I'm looking into a more practical AWD car instead of the G35C. I narrowed it down to these two.
Both fully loaded, the Legacy is 5-6K cheaper. Also the Legacy is a 6-speed manual vs. an Auto only G35x.

i'm in the same situation as you are... Looking at both cars...

I'll most likely stick with my gut and still get a G37 instead of going towards the AWD side...

It's a tough choice... really tough actually... I'd want the Infiniti, but there's no 6mt AWD yet... so it forces me to lean towards the Subaru...

I haven't driven the Subaru yet... so my best advice is to you is to go drive both of them and see if you appeals to you more than the other... that will probably be your deciding factor.

I don't have the 4-door nor AWD g35. Neither does my friend have the spec-B LGT... but he does have an LGT and that thing on its own is a sweet ride. Spec-B must be even much better. If you don't mind losing some luxury factor but gaining a good amount driving excitement factor, i say lgt spec-b... IMO, from my limited experience

I drove the Legacy GT before I bought my G. What won me over with the G was the interior. The Legacy has a typical Subaru budget-car look and feel, much like a Nissan Altima does. It's nice, but not G-nice.

The Scooby was very fun to drive, and the AWD was really well sorted-out, but the turbo lag was noticeable. I was much happier with the smooth torque-delivery of the VQ35 V6. So the better engine was just the icing on the cake, with the cake being that the G interior was a much better place to spend my driving time over the Legacy.

The Spec-B doesn't offer that much over the standard GT, so I'd still go for the G.

The interiors of Subarus do not justify the price. The Legacy interior feels really cheap, and doesnt look like it will last long. But I didnt drive the car, so it may make up for it in performance (much like the STi, which to me has a really cheap interior, but people are willing to pay the 35k price because of its performance.)

Nope.

Subaru needs to realize that performance alone does not sell cars. They need to stop making fugly cars that drive well, and start making pretty cars that drive well. As others (e.g., Infiniti) have already proven, buyers in this segment can have their cake and eat it too.

If your looking for the car better at AWD then go for the Subaru. If not, then stick with the G.

I'd get the X, auto or not. The two don't compare in terms of quality IMO. Nothing wrong with the Subaru, but I'm never really impressed with the quality of their interiors - they have a cheap feel to me.

The new X is a great looking ride and the interior, while perhaps not that of say an Audi, is very, very nice.

Feature for feature, the X is worth the extra $ IMO.

Subaru is probably one of the most dependale and reliable cars on the road, but it all depends on what you want i guess.

Honestly, i couldnt vote on this poll. I'd be equally happy with both.

wow

Subaru really stepped it up

I like the front of new Legacy. Very nice.

But it's no match for G.

I'd take that over Subaru any day.

This is a Legacy GT spec.B... it has different wheels and body kit pieces. It's much more tame-looking than the Liberty in the above pic.

Are you looking for an unbiased opinion on G35Driver.com comparing the G35 with another car, cmon what did you expect. I have to admit the Subaru Liberty GT is a very nice looking car from the picture in your post

Below is the image of a stock Legacy Spec B.

2008-g35x-vs-2008-legacy-gt-spec-b-sublegspecb.jpg

My advise test drive both and you decide afterall you'll be making the payment.
