A Lap of the Nurburgring in the 2009 Nissan GT-R (vid)

Here is more info on the GT-R and a vid from Edmunds for those that can't get enough.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=123066?tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..1 .*

It is a rather long article so I refrained from posting it here.

thanks NfiveO

Nice find, impressive numbers round the ring, she will be quite the target for any racer on the road. I wonder if this car will find its way into SSC racing, where would it end up? Racing C6Rs and strippped down 911s - would that not be an interesting show to watch, with a V-8 M3 also jumping in.

This will spoil the day of a 130k 911 buyer who sees his domain invaded by a rice rocket for 50k less, but i still wish i could buy one. i wonder if they will release more copies in later years but for the introduction the limit will be very tight. Even porsche is selling more cars then ever, but it has not dropped their price. The ring time is amazing if that is actually what you can buy stock, save for maybe some different rubber, I wonder which few dealers are being considered to offer these cars, anyone herd yet?

Thanks for that find Alex. No I can't get enough.

It was very interesting to hear Edmunds say the car runs 0-62 (0-100km) in 3.5 That's like 3.3 -3.4 to 60 mph.

I see you're itching to pull the trigger on this car.

Itchin' but it's probably more than I can chew pricewise. I just have to settle down and wait for the final numbers.

I don't want to make a fatal mistake with the business.

All of the numbers being reported are amazing: weight: 3,762 lbs., 20" rims, longer (wheelbase too) than Z06, 911 = 3.5 secs (0-62), 11.7 secs 1/4 mile?
Pretty damn amazing compared to many stock supercars, performance and price wise. Only time will tell.

I can wait to see one in person.

I understand completely. Business first. You've got lots of time to enjoy the fruits of your labour a bit down the road. Very impressive to be able to even think of one at your age. I lived in a tiny 2 room hole earning $150/week at 21.

I think it's a bit more than I can chew as well. It would be an amazing car though. Where I live a GTR owner would be nearly guaranteed to have the only one within 800 miles+ across 4 provinces.

The only thing I can't get over is the huge weight of this car. I can't understand how it can handle and accelerate so incredibly. Seems like it should be at least 3-400 lbs lighter to do that.

Thanks. Impressive but not unheard of.

How nice would that be!

I have a feeling I'd be one of the only ones to own one on this side of the state. I'm sure there would be a few others.

Yeah, me either. Like I posted in an earlier thread...something doesn't seem right. Either Nissan grossly underestimated power numbers, the 3.5 0-60 is false, or the car isn't as heavy as everyone is reporting. Right now, I can't see nearly 3800 pounds and 473hp/433tq working so well together...even if the car is AWD!

First off I suspect the test cars running 3.5 are not the low end version and are the ones anticipated to have about 530 hp (EVO). Second it's very possible those acceleration numbers are optimistic. Another thread on here you posted said the weight was 3830 or so.

The 3.5 sec got everybody off guard. Road and Track was saying it was a 4 sec. car already. :lol
It would be even more hilarious if the GTR was even faster on the official test....l

I dont think Nissan dealerships will be so willing to hand out test drives on this car, especially on a GT-R. Unless you roll up in a 7-series or S-Class and come out with a briefcase, I dont see you getting a test drive

I agree. I know there were some dealerships not allow people to test drive (unless you are serious about buying it...then what's the point?) the Z when it first came out. I'm sure some still don't.

In fact, it will be hard to find a dealership that will carry these cars.
