New Car!

LOL its a new beater to drive to school/work. 1991 Mazda 626, got it for 400$ and it only has 86k miles. It needs a little work, but I am going to fix it up and use it to pile some miles on. One thing that I couldt belive when I got it is that the center air vents move back and forth on there own, they are powered by a motor.

yea this thing should be great on gas. I wasnt thinking about gas when I got it, I was thinking more about not putting 40miles a day on the G back and forth to school.

Yea, but the car already has 40k miles on it. I rly go this beater to save miles on the car I am going to buy next.

yeah i had a mazda626 back in high school put some rims on it and my ex gf totalled it -- hit a parked car, tree, and a fence .... the motorized vents were cool but the tranny is weak so be careful with it.

Yea I think I need new tranny mounts, the car shakes when I am in D and stopped.

I used to think that was a good idea, but you are putting your life in the hands of crash standards from the mid to late 80's(yes I know it's a 1991,but that is still utilizing tech. from the mid to late 80s) That is NOT good.
Another thing I could not stand is how people would look at you like you're a loser. I know you're gonna say that doesn't bother you, but deep down it should a little b/c the G is so nice in comparison.

Great idea for a student to save some money. Driving a beater has other benefits too. It makes you appreciate a "good" car so much more whenever you switch back. It also keeps you humble and your ego in check by experiencing a "poor" mans car.
