You know whats funny, i had this same thought in my head comparing the two.

The S2k to me would present a good motor which is the F20, which has a great aftermarket out there, easy to make fast, Custom Header, Nice exhaust and a tune puts you at about 25xwhp dynojet and 170ish tq. = low 13s in the quarter mile and great for road racing as all motor is all through the power band. Great Suspension in the Double Wishbone all around, LSD, Cable Throttle not Electric(at least the 03's which i wanted was)!

Cons: Noisy for Daily Driving, the sound system was crappy, basically 2 speakers, and an optional headrest speaker. Also it was a 2 seater, not very daily driver worthy.

Now for the G35, the car makes decent power as is, but is a v6= worst gas mileage, limited All Motor Aftermarket, no good standalone ecu's(my primary type of power screw boost! LOL). The suspension is not as good for handling as S2k's. Same goes wtih All Motor power, as the F20 Motor is a more efficient motor given its power/weight ratio.

With that said though, given the G35s stereo, comfy interior, ipod compatible stereo with nice bass, electric everything, it won over all.

It was the perfect Daily/weekend crusing car because of its beauty, not much is needed either to make these cars look good. Just wheels, lip and grill.

i like the g35 for the 4 seats...not only can i keep up but it has room for daily driving...i know for you hardcore racers out there this might seem like a negative.

S2000 is a nice car, but not a G35. If i had the choice .... the G hands down, all around, never think of an s2000 in the process, G FTMFW. =)

I've always wanted to drive an S2000 actually but they're obviously not practical as daily drivers

If by "nicely" you mean 55 MPH... then yes.

I don't and have never been able to get my car above 25 MPG on the highway unless I go less than 65 MPH.... with or without mods. When I go 70-75, I get about 23 to 23.5 MPG in the summer.

it all depends what you are looking for, i wanted the best of both worlds performance and luxury (the g sucks at both... i kid i kid) and so needed to find the perfect balance. The G35 came out on top.

I had been cross-shopping the s2000 & g35, both are good cars within their own respects, but the extra seats in the g35 along with torque made my decision easier.

Haha.. I agree kinda. To each his own, but the whole idea of owning a convertible always seemed too flaunty and non-functional and yuppyish(extra weight, more moving parts, more expensive, mostly for show, and guys shouldn't sunbathe.... particularly not while driving).

Guys wanting convertibles need to listen to this(joking): (NSFW due to language only)

To be honest though... I can't hold the convertible aspect against an S2000, since that's all they offer them in. I wish they offered them in a non-convert though... the car would perform even better because it might weigh 90-140 pounds less than it's already light weight and it would be more rigid in terms of even less frame flex.
