I feel bad for all these guy's that swear that just because they spent a fortune modifying their cars for show they made a good investment...

This guy was actually crazy enough to post a 1989 240SX hatch that he claims he spent thousand on for almost 40 THOUSAND dollars

I mean seriously, not only could I probably buy a REAL S15 locally for less, but the 2 tone on this **** is butt ugly, I think he tried to make it look like one of those early 90's Corvettes or something, fricking disgusting man.

I'd give him 8 tops just because it has a low mileage sr20 in it, and that's IF he agrees to dump some pearl black over that disgusting paint job and gets me some nice gold wheels. lol

We can't get real S15s in Canada We have to settle for front end conversions..
But that car does look like ***, and no 240SX can ever be worth real money, that's why I decided to sell mine instead of throwing even more money away.

There are plenty of other cars that you can get with 40k. Some people just dont understand that when you modify a car, you are making it unique, and the way you like it, its hard to find someone with the same tastes. I personally dont like that car at all, I think he will have trouble finding anyone willing to pay more that 20k for that thing.

I bought an 89 240sx coupe, kaaz 2 way lsd, sr20det motorset, fmic, bov, boost controller, cat back, injectors, coil overs, full adj suspension parts, etc and I'm still only at around $7k. Granted I don't have the fancy paint, but c'mon, $38,000 for that car is ridiculous. You can never expect to get what you put into a project car, it just doesn't work that way.

Well I love 240's I mean I wouldnt mind having one again at all, but it's true. You'll spend, I dunno 5-6 grand on a good swap maybe 4 more on upgrades and a load more on w/e else you want but no way in hell are you gonna get 38 thousand bucks for it!

Yeah here in South FL you see a lot of S14/S15 conversions, Sil-eighties, etc. but recently GT-R's and JDM Silvias have become available and at afordable prices too. I've seen R34 GTT's in the mid 30's and S15's for under 30 grand, but something like an R34 GT-R would probably run you close to 70K. These are all legal of course.

I just read through the mod list on that car. It's an absolute heap! The only thing he really spent money on was the paint.
